Back in old Blighty belts are being tightened and ASDA has come up with a way celebrate Christmas without pushing the boat out during these economic times.

Some might even be able to use hot water !!

Me, will probably treat the gf to a meal at Yayoi .

My, how times have changed. When I was a kid, we made paper decorations ourselves, tree was cut from somewhere in the bush, mother made presents herself.

It's not supposed to be about how much money you can spend on it.

I'll accept that a tree might be a bit hard to cut down without being arrested in a British city, but the rest can be done.

Every Christmas for me in LOS was also just another day.

Christmas is for families with kids IMO, and I had none.

Wife didn't care about it either.

Never liked the Xmas greed of my Brit kids.

Gave it up in Thailand as my Thai kids never expected it.

As a Christmas tree grower back home, prices will be up 50% over last year. Like most Christmas tree growers, I prefer a plastic tree. If I see a tiny tree at the supermarket, I might buy one.

Might hit some hotel doing a turkey dinner in the 2K baht range. Internet says I'll be spoiled for choice.
