There was high drama at the crossroads outside The Mall Bangkhae in Thonburi, western Bangkok yesterday evening.

A policeman in plain clothes trying to do a drugs' bust shot at the tires of a white car.

But the car managed to barge its way through six other vehicles waiting at the lights and make good an escape.

Roj, 32, said he was waiting on the red light when he was shunted in the rear by a car clearly trying to make a path through the traffic to get away, reported Thai Rath.

Senior policmen Pol Maj-Gen Ponganan Khlaikhleung held a 30 minute meeting with Laksong Police.

It was decided that Region 7 of the met follow through with the case. They had been trailing the suspect for some time.

Lasong police said they were helping the motorists with damaged cars sort out their insurance claims.

A press announcement was expected in this case today.

I've only been in Thailand a few months.....mass murders, shootings, stabbings daily, robberies, more shootings, drug busts, selling guns, stealing guns, gun violence daily.....

LOShooting.

Who ya gonna blame now falang?!?!?!?!??!!??!?!!?   lol

As I've said before, more stories like this will happen....and then a MAJOR crackdown is coming.   more stories, a bigger crackdown is allowed.   You'll see...

The knowledge is what is printed here.....is everyone missing something?

Apparently you are. A plain clothes policeman shot at the wheels of a car which escaped. On the basis of that statement alone, posters claim that every Thai cop is a bumpkin and they must be paid to join the force. You have none of the details but are overly keen to bash any Thai cop....except when you need them, then it's a different story of course. Thai bashing on this forum is rampant, loads of generalizations but with hardly any underlying substance or fact.

A wholly unnecessary comment based on zero first hand knowledge.

It was a perfectly reasonable statement.

Do you know anything about how the RTP actually operates?

Have you seen the news over the past few years?

SMH!

"they just take any simple brained bumkin into the force if they can pay the joining fee". So you agree with that posters statement then? Well you might, until you get into a spot of difficulty and start crying for the police to come and help and protect you, then you sing a different tune.

Of course there are some poor quality cops out there but there are plenty of very good ones also. Calling them all bumkins is inappropriate, inaccurate and unhelpful, it just provides further evidence that some foreigners don't know, don't understand and don't think..
