Starmer has now come out and said he gets it as his first job was on a farm, which is right up there with Rachel Reeves claims she was a chess champion and an economist. This is another stupid Labour policy that was rushed through without speaking to farmers or the body that represents them that will harm the UKs ability to feed itself, all for just £560 million a year, which is equivalent to 25 hours worth of NHS spending. I don't think the UK can survive another 4 years and 6 months of this Labour government. They are doing way too much harm already and it is so early on. The farmers look like they will soon adopt a more French style approach to protesting, and the arrogance and stupidity of Labour for just 25 hours of NHS spending will see the UK descend into chaos as the protests and dissatisfaction escalates. -

Multiple Entry Non O Spouse Visa Extension in Phuket
Hi all, I had been intending to return to Savannakhet to apply for a new spouse visa, as I fly in and out from Thailand to Oz for work on a fortnightly basis and this was the most convenient option, given my circumstances. It appears that this is not as user-friendly this year. Therefore, I am looking at missing a work swing, giving me six weeks to extend my current spouse visa from my home in Phuket. Am I correct in understanding that I can apply for the extension within 45 days of the visa expiring? My example is that I will land in Phuket on January the 20th, 2025, getting a 90 day entry stamp. My visa expires on the 14th of February 2025, so I believe I can apply the day I land. Then, if the application is accepted, I will be given a month under consideration and told to return on a date at the end of that month to receive my multiple entry one-year extension, from the date of the visa expiry. I've looked at the Phuket Immigration Volunteers web page (https://piv-phuket.com) and it looks like my plan is doable within my six-week window. If anyone who has extended their spouse visa in Phuket recently or someone else in the know who can help clarify anything I may be missing could reply on here I would appreciate it greatly. Opening a Thai bank account as a foreigner questions
Agree, but I may please add one proviso. Withdraw the funds from one account, and deposit in another, otherwise they will charge you a hefty sum sometimes for a transfer. I appreciate that it may be the same bank, but all banks here operate on a fiefdom system, much like immigration.
