Daily News Thai Caption: Migrants pouring in

Thai media Daily News suggested that illegal migrants were continuing to pour into Thailand from Myanmar.

In the last two days in Sangkhaburi, Kanchanaburi, western Thailand 12 were arrested in two separate incidents.

Eleven were caught in the area of the village of Ban Song Kalia on Wednesday - seven men and 4 women.

Then in the same area a man was caught yesterday.

No Thai facilitators were with them, they were alone when arrested.

They had paid 20,000 to 30,000 baht to agents and were headed for work in Kanchanaburi, Samut Sakhon, Rayong and Bangkok.

Put them in a rubber boat and send them to UK.

Kan is land locked, Nearest sea is where they came from Burma.

This will never change while there are desperate people and greedy business owners. All facilitated by military or police bosses, depending on which province that the illegals are transmitting through.

They must have thought they were crossing the US southern border.

Of course illegal workers are flooding in - Thai industry is desperately short of labour - like Britain. The trick is not to stem the inevitable but to ensure decent working conditions for all.  And to be fair the government has made a start on this with its agreement with the Myanmar and Cambodian governments to facilitate what the EU calls 'freedom of movement'.

Start to change the border control officers with people who are doing their jobs first instead of taking bribes, secondly the business owners fine them and lock them up for a year of 5, and thirdly and maybe most important get Thai people to work, than no immigrants are needed... I know a lot of people who don't want to work because and as reason they give they don't ear enough.. No indeed everybody wants big money but I always tell them start with a bit that is better than nothing and it will grow, but like to ask people for money instead of a job

Every time I see this I ask one question:

How many Thais have been arrested for employing illegals?
