"Unconscious" is a state of not being awake and not aware of things around you. Such a person is unresponsive and cannot be woken. What matters then is whether there are signs of life such as blood pressure (ie., greater than 90/60mmHg), core body temperature (above 37.3 degree C), skin color (ie., livor mortise with bluish-purple skin discoloration) etc. As such the subject foreigner cannot said to be found dead, albeit he might be in a nonreversable path to death too late for revival. "Unconscious" is not a state of death.
