Daily News Thai Caption: Defrocked....abbot

Thailand's Buddhist clergy are now sniffing glue.

Ban Na police in Nakon Nayok were called after a Toyota Mighty X was driven headlong into a power pole that was bent in two.

In the driver's seat was Phra Samuwichai, 56, the abbot of Wat Suthep Charoentham temple nearby.

He was completely incoherent and stank of glue.

He was unable to even walk and crawled off into the undergrowth by the side of the road.

He was helped get back on his feet by rescue services at the scene.

A search back at the monk's quarters in the temple found food and vomit all over the place.

There were four opened cans of glue at the head of his bed and many other canisters of adhesive were found in a fertilizer sack, reported Daily News.

No drugs were found either in his vehicle or in his quarters.

He was immediately defrocked then the police took him away to be charged with driving without a license.

Hope the charges, erm.. stick

Unless they tattoo 'Monk Reject' on his forehead he'll just move to the next temple for an easy life

He must have been buying the glue wholesale , expect his brain must be mush,

Sticky rice?????????

Don't think I'll use his car registration number for my next lottery ticket.

Seems the saffron mafia are out of control. Time for the Buddhism office to get off their a****** and clean up their temples, all monks seem to do is beg for food and money. They are of no use to the community, they are just parasites.

Judging from the photo it was the pickup that was bent not the powerpole. No sweat. Plenty of glue to repair it all.
