A distraught mother and father in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, are desperate after their two year old son disappeared from outside their house without a trace.

Locals have reported seeing a van driving around the Wawee sub-district suspiciously and there are fears that the boy is a victim of a gang stealing children, reported Thai Rath.

The child is special needs called Channathip Chermeu, aged 2 and 2 months.

His parents Asoh, 37, and Bocher, 26, were out working at a coffee plantation.

The pre-school child was under the care of his grandmother and had just come home with two elder male siblings after their gran collected them from school.

The gran was washing up and the other two boys were in the house while the littlest one was playing with a pet dog outside.

He went missing without a trace.

Locals mobilized a search party but by next morning he had not been found.

There are strong fears that he has been abducted by a gang that steals and sells children.

Oh yes1 They already know there are gang moving around stealing children? How great idea to let such small child play alone outside without supervision.

Yes, but I also heard about Nessy, Big Foot and the Chupacabra - but little evidence exists of those either !

Child adduction and selling is a known thing in China and China isn't too far away and it would be quite possible to Chinese gangs to abduct Thai Children and sell them in China , Ching Rai being the Thai location  closet to China

"has been abducted by a gang that steals and sells children. "......

Is there nothing sacred anymore? Stealing children? Really? How can people stoop so low? How can people have no morals? It absolutely amazes me how nasty and heartless people are becoming in this world. There will be a very special place in Hell for people who harm, exploit or abuse children.

But nobody actually saw a van at the time?
These rumours about the vans have been around for years. I remember the Mirror group, who are active in searching for missing persons, tried to follow this up in Isan. But they never found anyone who had seen the vans themselves or whose child had been abducted. It was always someone in the next village.
Children can go missing of course but until they can pinpoint the kidnappers or the van, they might be better off searching thoroughly in the local area around the home?

The repot says that locals did see a van driving around suspiciously before the child went missing

It says locals have reported a van driving around the sub-district suspiciously. They need to find one who actually saw it and can describe it and say what was suspicious about it, where the registration was from etc. No direct connection to the missing child. Any other children missing to suggest that there's a gang of childnappers around?
