Hi All.

I'm looking to get a cortisone shot in my shoulder that has been previously reconstructed 25 years ago.

Starting to give me hell and just needs to settle.

Soi Boukhou hosp next to Lengkee still a goer?

Cheers.

Orthopedic Dept at BPH about 3k baht, if you can't find anywhere else.

Cheers. I will work things from there.

Last shot was about B2.5 in my knee @ Boukhao.

Pattaya Memorial (corner of Klang and 2nd Road). Possibly the same Dr as at the others but I was very impressed with his professionalism.... which doesn't happen too often here.

Recent research shows adverse effects in knee joint from too many cortisone injections. (We all know that anyway. Damages tendons). They're getting better results from hyaluronic acid injections. (A lubricant often used in eye drops for treatment of corneal pathology).

Cortisone injections can indeed over time  weaken joint cartilege  and tendons (anywhere in the body) and there are well known guidelines on how many injections how often are considered safe. Any orthopeduc specialist will know this.

However nothing in OP's post suggests he has gotten multiple injections in the past year or so.

HA injections helpful  for some patients especially if osteoarthritis is the culprit. It will not help other conditions though. And if a lot of inflammation is present steroid injection (alone or on addition to HA) will be more helpful at least in the short term.

Steroid and HA can be given together with synergistic effect. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8568987/

OP note that pain in shoulder can be due to issues in the cervical spine as well as issues in the shoulder. So cannot necessarily assume it relates to your past injury.
