Popular Post Rimmer
Some posts have been removed, Tick Tock is a part of the forum and gives a quick synopsis of any given situation without reading through pages and pages of words, if you don't like these short topical videos then don't watch them but don't post your vitriolic comments on here for others to read, it is soul destroying for the volunteer posting them who is trying to give you more content to enjoy. I regret it is the same people doing this all the time and spoiling it for others. This is commenting on moderation and News Team posts, there are forum rule about this, there will be consequences if you continue like this. 13. You will not publicly comment on moderation in an open forum. You will not comment on actions taken by individual moderators or on specific or general policies and issues. You will not post a negative emoticon in response to a public notice made by a moderator. 17. The ASEAN NOW news team gathers and disseminates news bulletins from Thai and international sources, and republishes them in the news forums for our members' information and enjoyment. Our news team works hard to bring quality content to the news forums and should be respected for their efforts. Comments such as "slow news day" or "clickbait headline" are disrespectful and unwelcome. Such comments will be sanctioned. 2 3
MartinL
Interesting video but I was just as much interested in the subtitles. What language? A Romance language? Much was sort-of familiar from French and Spanish I know but it wasn't either of those. Not Italian. Romanian?

HappyExpat57
I can't see how credit card companies would EVER allow this ridiculous system to take over. They make way too much money in fees and interest payments.
topt
The only thing I could find after a very quick search was on the BofE web site initially from last year - https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/news/2021/april/bank-of-england-statement-on-central-bank-digital-currency Quote A CBDC would be a new form of digital money issued by the Bank of England and for use by households and businesses. It would exist alongside cash and bank deposits, rather than replacing them. And then this from earlier this year - https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/paper/2022/responses-to-the-bank-of-englands-discussion-paper-on-new-forms-of-digital-money

Popular Post DezLez
If we must have such dramatic headlines as the OP; Bank of England Banking is CHANGEING ! BE AWARE BE PREPARED ! can we please have a quick written sentence explaining it. What do I have to be aware of and be prepared for? I am NOT questioning moderation but am asking for the clarification of overly dramatic news headlines which seem to be out of date! 1

Neeranam
My money is that they use XRP/Ripple. The former governor made lots of signs about this in the past. Edited December 7, 2022 by Neeranam
lkn
January 2022: CBDC - A Solution in Search of a Problem From the Economic Affairs Committee (of the UK parlement). The report concludes there is no convincing case for why the UK needs a central bank digital currency (CBDC). The committee found that while a CBDC may provide some advantages, it could present significant challenges for financial stability and the protection of privacy. Granted, I did only watch a few fragments of the video, but it appears to just be fear-mongering. 1
