Air quality in 24 districts in Bangkok exceeds standard safety level

Air quality in Bangkok is getting worse, with the amount of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere exceeding the standard level of 50 microns (microgram/cubic metre) being reported in 24 out of 50 districts, according to the Bangkok Air Quality Information Centre.

 

The amount of PM2.5 in the atmosphere in Bangkok was measured at between 30 and 64 microns between 5am and 7am Friday, averaging 46.4 microns.

 

PM2.5 dust is expected to increase and pose a health threat, said the centre.
