The Bhumjaithai Party is ready to join hands with any party to form a new government, after the next general election. Its leader, Anutin Charnvirakul, is qualified to be the next prime minister, according to Newin Chidchob, a former key member of the party, in an exclusive interview with Thai PBS.

Although he used to be in conflict with fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who is considered the de facto leader of Pheu Thai Party, Newin said he is now just an ordinary member of the Bhumjaithai Party, and the party leader Anutin has never had a conflict with Thaksin.

“I have nothing to do with the Bhumjaithai Party’s affairs. I am just a headmaster, an “Uncle Newin”. It is the party’s business to deal with (the matter), because I am just a party member, not an executive. The people who are now in the Bhumjaithai, Pheu Thai, Democrat or Palang Pracharath parties are not in conflict with one another, so why can’t theyjoin together?” asked Newin, currently manager of the Buri Ram soccer team who is, however, still regarded as the de facto leader of Bhumjaithai Party.

In other words: we are willing to respect the will of the people and accept the outcome of an election may mean a coalition government.

With so many ego ( I have money but want power) parties, there is little chance of anyone getting a majority.  However, the worst thing that a party could now do is say they will work with BJT or Prayut after the next election.

Really this is going to be a Pheu Thai victory not because they are the best party, but they are the best of what there is.  That means that Thaksin will rule from outside the country again.

wash rinse dry repeat.

No he wont. They will simply not let TS win unless he has come to an agreement with high ups. The only sane vote would be for Move Forward party. It probably wont be perfect but every other party is simply old style mafia politics... Thaksin, Chidchob (pure scum), Suthep all the grubby Thai Rak Thai politicians...

The problem is that a lot of the old people remember the good old days when the Thaksin family looked after them.  While I agree with you about MF I just think that it is not known enough.  If this was done in a sort of Canadian method were people running had to actually get out and meet the people in their constituency, it might be different.  The problem is that most Thais vote for the party, not the person.  It is sort of a GOP/DEM situation with more minor parties around.

Many Thais will vote for the PT simply because they are promising high wages and a better life.

The other problem is that the military can slow down MF and other parties they really can not touch PT because it is so firmly entrenched.

This is going to be a battle between Prawit and the Thaksin clan for prime minister.  If Prayut can get enough votes and still has the backing of all his senatorial butt-kissers he will also be a factor for Prime Minister, which eventually will mean PM Anutin. .

Sums up Thai politicians; we will join with anyone whatever their policies to get our snouts where the money is.

well at least they do not have to waste their time and intellectual effort in creating and implementing any policies which may improve the lives of the Thai people.

Individuals play non significant roles throughout this fabricated criminally induced charade.

It's all about the thriving and survival of the omnipresent systems.......which they seem to have everyone over a barrel.

This all encompassing rhetorical theatre where the surface players nay appear different, yet the play remains the same.

The show must go on......even when most faux intellectuals [less the common variety] are suckered into such ideals that there might be a difference between any of them.

The re-alignment of the troughs is in full swing. Nothing will change in the intentions and plans; just beware that all this could, this time, go seriously wrong.

Newin and his brother Saksayan are cut from the same wood as their deceased father Chai - the uncrowned Buriramians. A heartfelt, warm statement like "Anutin Charnvirakul, is qualified to be the next prime minister" clearly sets Newins thinking.

Don't ask the voters - nobody cares what they want. Newin and his cronies (and that number is on the increase) have spoken. Anutin is the ticket this time; lets see who is in for a surprise this time. Uncle Too, who went down Thai history already for outstaying his welcome on the PM's chair, does not want to clear the stage anytime soon. And, do not forget the puppet master; if he is not napping anywhere in the Kingdom or presiding one of those endless committees, forums or task forces, he certainly has some of the most powerful "нетs" (Russian Nyets) to offer.

Lets see what kind of hardship is up their sleeves for 2023; sofar the power change from the antiquity dinosaur congregation to the present leadership went rather smooth.

Thailands problems are unique and all homemade, Thailand's biggest enemies are their own subjects - how sad!
