698 or 697 likely scam call center calls

Featured Replies

I missed the memo but on November 22 public was warned to reject calls with +698 (Thai Sim card from outside country) or +697 (internet call) from unknown persons as likely call center scam calls.  (Thai networks add the 3 digit to front of numbers to alert customers).

Got one today - recorded Thai message that need to contract bank (which not where have accounts).  Just hung up and then checked number and at last got the message.

Best is to just don't answer those type of calls, or reject them, no one has any need to answer calls from unknown "international" numbers.
