"Don't Leave Me This Way" is a song written by Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff and Cary Gilbert. It was originally released in 1975 by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass, an act signed to Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International label.

Was a Billy Preston tune above, here he is injecting some life into the rather boring Concert for George:

Great song! Some info about it

Taken from George Harrison’s towering All Things Must Pass album, this beautiful song has the distinction of being the first No.1 single in the UK and America by a former Beatle, as well as being the UK’s biggest selling single of 1971. George wrote the song, but did you know that he was not the first to record “My Sweet Lord”? George gave the song to Billy Preston to include on his September 1970 album, Encouraging Words.

Well then, given it's Preston then it's worth a listen.

A favourite traditional negro spiritual song of mine is (Sometimes I Feel Like A) Motherless Child which dates back to the slavery era.  Preston does a nice version off of his '78 gospel album, Behold!
