I miss Thaivisa, when you posted and got an answer a few minutes later, now it's 3 days, and still nothing for a very basic question 🤡

Tell me about it. Just look at all the rubbish being stated on the income tax threads. There are far too many that are either Thai haters or Thai apologists - the rational informed ones have obviously left.  Regarding this sort of question Ubon Joe was great - RIP.

My Filipina fiancée and I went to the Banglamung khet today to inquire about the procedure. We have all the necessary documents finalized by the MoFA.

Told you need to come in by 0730 to request an appointment that might be as much as a month away. The kicker was that they only take TWO applications/day. Plus, they said you must have a Thai-English interpreter.

Anybody have any recommendations for another office in the general Chonburi area? Or any agency that specializes in expediting this nonsense?

so it was easier to get divorced and re married than too just sign your name on a bank paper? Don't understand that one

...and 10 Baht cheaper....

I am replying in this old thread which has obviously been superseded by time/events.

I am marrying in January but, more important my daughter, and her fiance, are also marrying in January when they visit for 10 weeks.

Ever since the Indian was found issuing fraudulent documents the authorities have tightened up and now have strict rules to follow for ALL offices. Any marriage involving any Farangs can only be approved by the Nai Amphur.

We were going to get married on the same date in Bang Rak; that is not achievable as there is currently an appointment lead in time of 35 days. Apart from the pretty pink display Bang Rak is soulless and is basically a marriage factory. I don't know if agents can circumvent the system and I wouldn't pay them anyway.

One of the options for my daughter is Rayong and I wonder if anyone has any recent experience of the marriage process there.
