Srinagarindra police in Phatthalung, southern Thailand, were called after a shooting at a house in Ban Na sub-district. 

 

A man called Sutthipong Chumrak, 29, had died in the local hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest.

 

Police found bloodstains at the house and a Nissan car with a bullet hole and shattered back window.

 

A 9mm gun and six spent cartridges and unused ammunition was also found, reported Thai Rath.

 

The victim's father-in-law Charoen Yimthiang, 62, was at the house. He surrendered along with a .38 gun.

 

It emerged that Sutthipong and his wife Supornphan had been together nine years and had two children.

They used to have frequent arguments that always resulted in the husband firing his gun. 

 

Recently he had left her to return to his home in Khuankhanung district.

 

Yesterday he came back with several friends in a pick-up and went into the house to get a gun, clothes and grabbed his youngest child.

 

His mother-in-law Preeda, 68, grabbed the child and Sutthipong started firing at his father-in-law. He fired half a dozen shots though he didn't hit him.

 

Charoen went back in the house and got his own gun and fired twice, hitting his daughter's car and his son-in-law in the chest.

 

The friends took the victim to Srinagarindra Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

 

Charoen was taken away and charged with killing another person.

Come on guys, the dead idi**t shot at this dad-in-law SIX times, old man only fired twice, OBVIOUSLY in self-defence.  I'd pay some money towards his defence!!!

When you have been fired at 6 times, even an RTP member would likely shoot

back at least twice, if he knew how to shoot his gun.

  I hope the father has enough money for a lawyer to point out this part of the

situation.

Thailand's poster child for the NRA. You live by the gun, you may die by the gun. Sounds like this fool was obsessed with his guns. Congrats to the father in law for dispensing what appears to be reasonable justice considering the circumstances.

He wasn't an NRA member.  So no poster child status for him!

You should know the NRA couldn't do that.  It would not be the Thai thing to do, some people would say.
