So excuse me for lack of knownledge, even I should known better

' I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes , I have to turn my head until my darkness goes.' Brilliant song. that song appears to be about a lover who died and the darkness is his mood caused by her death. it's not misogyny. so you don't need to see a shrink for liking this one.

It neither promotes nor justifies violence Against women! but it sounds like a wedding song. it sounds way too upbeat. listen to Immortal Technique - Dance With the Devil he commits a violent act ... and then his life descends into hell ... so it's more "holistic". Right before he pulled the trigger, and ended her life And crying out to the sky 'cause he was lonely and scaredBut only the devil responded, 'cause God wasn't there And right then he knew what it was to be empty and coldAnd so he jumped off the roof and died with no soul

Stabbing to death his girlfriend is OK to sing about ? It's a story in a song. Its fictional. There are crime dramas and horror films on TV where women get murdered. Do you want to ban them too? And you are sexist if you only think it's wrong for a man to kill a woman, but not a woman to kill a man!

Its just a song that a choir will not be singing at half time at a rugby match . You still still sit at home and watch woman getting killed on television at night, no one is taking that away from you . You can watch Jack the Ripper movies in DVD all night long if you want

The protagonist acknowledges that they will break down the door to get him; he concedes what he's done is wrong. It is characteristic of many English folk ballads and murder ballads in general. Maxwell of Maxwell's Silver Hammer murders two women on a whim. Matty Groves? But we are told what Maxwell did with his hammer, whereas in Delilah "I felt the knife in my hand, and she laughed no more." Quite artful. Or did he use the knife to cut a piece of smelly cheese, which she found disgusting? ???? It can really go off the rails with sanitizing classical theatre, opera, etc. The Kate Blanchett movie "Tar" touches on this kind of thing; "but I'm not into cis composers" says one of the characters. February 4, 20233 yr Well I've never been to a rugby match and doubt I ever will. As for the song itself, I've sung along with with it, and until now never even associated it with any thing bad, it was/is just a song. Folks watch porn and for the most part just know it's fantasy. Same with music, you sing along but doubt many people are mentally influenced by it Somebody thinking up this stuff must have too much time on their hands at work
February 4, 20233 yr Singing at the rugby. No Delilah. Swing low sweet chariot is not popular. And, next, Flower of Scotland: The former Scotland rugby coach Jim Telfer has reiterated his stance that his country's national anthem should be changed on the eve of the Six Nations. Telfer, 82, believes it is time for the anthem to be shelved because of its anti-English connotations. He has long vocalised his desire for change for the song that was first adopted by the Scottish rugby team when he was forwards coach back in 1990. Telfer has now reiterated his stance on the song that references Scotland's victory over English forces at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. "Back then [in 1990], it really got the crowd behind us, but I’d like to think we have moved on..."

Not the sort of thing for choirs to sing at the footy. Same as this song. May seem politically correct if used to it but from afar it is not hard to see their point.

But it seems that juvenile behaviour is accepted as being normal these days , doing things that you have been asked not to do . That is what children do
