Ex-Thai PM Yingluck to face legal proceedings on return home
Do we really have to play this game again? She will face very few inconveniences on her return. Same as her brother. -

Driving round on my Harley shouting 'Slava Ukraini' to passers by..
Probably some truth to that but I would be embarrassed to be on a Harley. If you feel it is cool then that is really all that matters. -

K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?
I think the US recognizes that not all banks are in the position to defy local privacy laws, so banks were given leeway to segregate their accountholders into those who complied and those who are recalcitrant. I think the balances and transactions of recalcitrant accountholders was to be pooled and reported in the aggregate without identifying individual account holders. This gave the banks a means of complying with FATCA without breaking local privacy laws. Because of this, I doubt that most banks would take the nuclear option of closing an average expat's account, but it's anyone's guess what a Thai bank may do. I also don't know about CRS or have any insight into Thai laws in this area, which I understand were amended in order to facilitate CRS and FATCA compliance by the banks. -

Highway Police Dismiss Allegations of “Gang Stickers” Clearing Routes
The posters here have no idea of what went on this weekend. Literally thousands of small but loud bikes mostly ridden by kids but also some in the older group. We live on a small road, the pavement is only 5 metres wide at best and they were roaring up and down the road all weekend into the early hours of the mornings. I have no idea where they were going as we are on a small road. They do not ride the small bikes from Bangkok or wherever but send them up in trucks or modified utes that hold about 6-10 bikes. Great social weekend for them but even my usually sedate wife complained that it should be stopped. The police had a check point early on Saturday morning but after that it was a free for all. Have yet to here of all of the later accidents, but the local hospital was busy. -

What the flip is this flying monster in my condo and how do I make it go bye bye?
The solution should be obvious to any red-blooded American. Smith and Wesson, or a Desert Eagle. -

Plan B Countries - Any Advice or Ideas ?
I am a bit confused by that. I thought, rightly or not, that the UK state pension came under the DTA. So what is the difference? State pensions are what most elderly people use in Europe, I accept many have backup with private pensions. If they were going after anything, one would have thought it would be the top-up additional private pension because most people are entitled to state pension, even those who have spent their lives unemployed. The state pensions are supposedly to cover the needs of a pensioner to exist and pay their bills. Anyway, it's got to be transferred in through the banks as income, I have no intention of remitting funds this way any more. -

Coverting O / OA visa to a parent visa from within Thailand
He will need to show that to get the 1-year extension, so need to find out - and he needs to get it if he doesn't have it. No need to "go home," regardless. Until he gets custody papers, visa-exempt with border-runs is currently permitted "unlimited," for now, at safe-crossings and agent-assisted crossings. Only if flying-in or at Poipet/Aranyaprathet are there reports of denied-entry. Of course this might change in the future. Also, "Visiting Family" is now a specified legal reason for using visa-exempt entry. He could bring the kids birth-certs with his name on them with him, in case of an issue.
