This is going to upset The Doors fan, Mr mojo risin.

He seems to think Pheua Thai supporters will rise upen masse if PT are denied the premiership.

But Thaksin will make a deal with Pravit to join forces and form a government in order to come back.

Never mind Pravit was part of the coup.

Never mind the rumours of corruption under his watch.

Everything will be forgiven if granddad can come home.

The red shirts? Most will be happy so long as a few populist policies are wheeled out.

The educated red shirts will move to Move Forward.

If pt wins and PPP are a minor player 3rd or lower then there is no way thaksin supports prawit he would lose too much face.

Incorrect.

Prawit as PM is unpalatable, however, the fact that he would be forced into a coalition to obtain the position is at least a step in the right direction -towards democracy.

A Prawit government would not see out a full term, it will be the last with the unelected Senators though.

Onwards and upwards from here on in as far as the pro democracy forces are concerned.

10,000 people on the streets protesting will achieve squat!

5 million on the streets in one co-ordinated day of protests nationwide, could achieve international scrutiny. Unfortunately such vast numbers of protestors would probably bring the army onto the streets as well. Bang would go the aims of TAT!!

He is incapable, a terrible leader, not particularly swift, and despised by all but a few. And did I mention the likelihood that he is seriously corrupt?

Which makes him a perfect contestant for the seat!

The real genuine pro-democracy forces aren't allowed to participate within the oligarchical pyramid scheme.

So much for your hopeful ideology.

Saw a documentary called Ghost Fleet, on the tens of thousands of Thais who are kidnapped to work on the fishing fleet, for years, at no pay. Many are lucky enough to escape alive. Many die. Prayuth attended a rally the group had. He showed up for 2 minutes, gave an incredibly insincere speech about how the seafood industry will not thrive unless the perpetrators are caught, then left.

The we guys are dinosaurs, who have no interest in making Thailand a better place, nor improving the lot of the common man. Pure toxicity.

Grow a backbone and say enough is enough for starters.

But the majority won't and will stick with their status quo, all brought upon by themselves.

Ahhh, but they're hungry......let's eat instead! :jap:

One day or a week of protest will amount to nothing - regardless of the fanciful number that you pull out of your backside.

A unified general strike for quite a spell might get their attention.......or a ingrained lifestyle of living one's protest [collectively].

They've had since 2014 to get something organised, and what have they achieved? Oh but there's ONLY 68 million of them! ????

Just stating that to a certain degree Thais are no different than other countries

And in particular instances, the political and social stranglehold is worst - case scenarios would included the much beloved democratic West.

Has little or nothing to do with elections.

Huh?

You think that if a large number of Thais do feel repressed under the current regime that it won’t be reflected in a large flow of votes away from the repressive regime towards the opposition?

When Thaksin wins the upcoming election by a landslide - to what will you attribute that result?

You seem to view the elections as a vehicle for removing repression that doesn't exist. The elections are not about removing repression nor anything related, this is not Myanmar.

All Thailand has to do to get back on the right road is to get rid of the army, the government, the police, the teachers, be colonized by Britain, and they're good to go.

Considering the alternatives, a colonialized vassal to China would be much more suitable and beneficial.

Asian-to-Asian thing.

You know how that is.

Thais as well, get pressganged, usually from Issan. Unemployed in Bangkok a fellow Issanite befriends them, go for a drink together, next thing the hapless victim wakes up on a fishing boat in the Gulf of Thailand.
