Daily News Thai Caption: M5 (student) stabs M3

 

Daily News reported on a stabbing incident at a well known school in the Bangrakam district of Phitsanuloke, northern Thailand.

 

A M5 (fifth grade of secondary education) student aged 17 stabbed a M3 15 year old.

 

The younger boy was bigger and stronger than his elder - but the older boy had a knife after previous trouble.

 

The M3 boy got the M5 one in a headlock after attacking him with a wooden club.

 

The M5 student then used a knife to stab him three times in the chest rupturing his lung and leading to hospital.

He is in a grievous condition under medical care.

 

The 68 year old grandfather of the older boy (Nui) said that he and "Mack", the younger of the two had come to blows over a girl.

 

The girl was Mack's but Nui had shown an interest.

 

This angered Mack and his gang.

 

Initially Mack attacked Nui out of school but later it led to a more serious confrontation.

 

Since the first trouble Nui was arming himself with a knife.

 

He has been charged with attempted murder.

 

Police will be interviewing the younger boy if and when he recovers.

A society in meltdown.. this happens when leadership is at an all time low, law enforcement are nothing but mafia and corruption is as prevalent as meth. 

The country really is going downhill fast.

The conclusion you draw from this incident is a bit extreme.  Plenty of knife fights happened in the past but were not quickly presented for public consumption/critic.

 

How many kids did not get into a knife fight this week?

The question should be how many teenagers carry a weapon of sorts, and if the need arises are willing to use them?

Time to install metal scanning booths at all schools on entering through the gates

Stuff happens.  I went to a very peaceful school in the West in the 80's.  Nevertheless, I was witness to a knife fight (also over a girl).  The assailant stole the huge carving knife from the home economics room.  Stab was aimed at the jugular, but fortunately the victim managed to get a hand in the way.  Only a minor puncture wound in the neck after the knife when through the hand.

 

True, an isolated incident, but no grander conclusions to be drawn other than "hormonal boys do stupid things".
