Pattaya's police chief Pol Col Thanapong Photi responded after reports that two people were shot and injured at the Saep Sadung Lin restaurant on Sai Klang Sai 3 in Pattaya at 3.30 am this morning.

Namil Kim, 46, a South Korean was shot in the right thigh and was taken to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

Two hundred meters away with a gunshot wound to his right shin was a motorcyclist called Thanawut, 24.

Evidence of two 9mm shots having been fired were found at the restaurant.

Thanawut said that he was going home to central Pattaya when he heard an argument and two shots fired.

He raced off in fear only realising further down the road that he had been hit by a stray bullet. He was taken to Muang Pattaya Hospital.

Khansunee, 34, a witness, said that she was eating and drinking at the restaurant with a friend. It had been her first day of work there, reported Thai Rath.

Kim had been at another table with a man aged about 30 and there had been an argument about the right to sell marijuana.

After Kim showed his licence it appeared that the other man opened fire, though she was not sure exactly what happened.

Police are studying CCTV to find where the shooter fled to and get a lead in the case.

So much confusion.

Kim is a Korean who can legally sell ganja?

Kim was taken to a private hospital but the motorcyclist not.

Was Kasunee working there or a client?

If "his" shop is licenced it would be legal, surely?  There were no reports of the actual share distribution of the business.

The motorcyclist was at a different location when he realised he needed treatment apparently, so, different responders.  Even if the responders were the same he could request to taken to any hospital if he's going to be paying for it, can't he?

What's the relevance of Kasunee's working status or whether she was a customer of the restaurant?

Are you saying that a pot shop, probably minority-owned by a Korean cannot be licenced?

Koreans can't get a license here to sell ganja.

Can a 51% owner of the business get a licence?  Maybe he was showing a licence for the business, not for him, personally.  Maybe he is a financial partner of the Thai business?

But isn't his "ownership" of the business irrelevant in the light of him and another person being shot?

I wish I had a job which paid a salary just to eat and drink as 'work' Perhaps it's to lure in customers.
