The news report mentions police examining CCTV, I am hoping (as it is basic global standard practice for crime scene evidence collection) that where the suspect was dining, that food utensils, table area, glasses, etc were all dusted for prints and seized for DNA analysis.  Shell casings obviously would be other items of examination.  Not sure about Thai fingerprint and DNA database setup.

We cannot rely of course on a journalist being given/relaying a complete rundown of the police evidence gathering and police may have just been told they're checking CCTV, without going into everything.

We cannot rely, of course, on a Thaivisa poster being given/relaying a complete rundown of the police evidence-gathering and the police may have just told the journalist that they're checking CCTV because they were, in fact, going into everything.

Restaurant... exaggerating a bit methinks.

Fast food outlets stretch the definition so why not?

Like 'mansions' which are blocks containing cheap rooms. Like some hotel 'suites', where the manager of one told me it's just a name. And so on.
