Deidre strongly urged the caller not to 'carry on putting up with this', slamming the husband's behaviour as 'appalling'

◼︎ 'Julie' told This Morning that her husband of 48 years leaves without any notice

◼︎ 'She also said that he sends hundreds of pounds in cash to Thailand each month

By ELMIRA TANATAROVA FOR MAILONLINE

A 70-year-old woman has revealed that her husband of 48 years 'keeps disappearing' to Thailand and sending 'hundreds of pounds' there monthly.

Speaking on a Dear Deidre phone-in on This Morning, the anonymous caller who went by 'Julie' said he leaves without telling her, and is tight-lipped about where the cash is going - dismissively claiming it's 'none of her business'.

A shocked Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby listened on as the bizarre tale was recounted to the agony aunt.

'It's normally on a Wednesday night he goes,' she revealed. 'I just come home, there's no note, nothing, passport, gone, clothes gone.'

Getting emotional, Julie added: 'I'm 70 now...I just don't know what to do...I'm thinking, how long have I got?'

Given the number of men that have had their lives destroyed by wives, are we supposed to sympathise with her?

This guy in  the story is being probably being unfaithful and spending money on prostitutes.    The guy in the story is at fault , not his Wife

There are two sides to every story. Personally, I don't understand why he wouldn't just get a divorce. But, it is very possible he has not had sex at home in years. And there could be multiple issues.

Maybe he's got another family on the go in Thailand?

She should mind what she says lest he dumps her and leaves her destitute.

The Wife isn't a Thai Wife and she wouldn't be reliant on him staying there and its likely that he would lose out big time if they divorced

Maybe he's got another family going in Thailand, you don't need to be married to have another family.

It doesn't matter if his wife in the UK is Thai, nobody cares.

If they split it will almost certainly be a 50/50 split, he will move to Thailand and her, well she will be left with half the price of whatever house they live in once it's sold.

I did mean that She isn't a Thai Wife like Thai wife's in Thailand , like being reliant on the man to provide .

Husbands in the UK cannot just walk out without facing a hefty divorce , like they can in Thailand  and you are assuming that they own their own house and there might not be a house to sell

It's not all roses for him either, likely the thai girl has more than one "boyfriend" and of course it's based on money, more of an employee than a girlfriend. The perfect scenario for her, a boyfriend who lives abroad

I'll take a wild guess here, he's donating this money to the poor and needy of Thailand and engaged in charity work in Pattaya waling street.

He wants his cake and eat it too. The fun Thai life and the security of home. Don't cop it lady. Divorce him while the money's there.

Or deep down after 48 years she may be happy to have him out of her hair but needs him to be respectful, use discretion and not embarrass her, and spend a defined reasonable amount.

He's got a Thai girlfriend, Julie, why don't you just go and get one yourself!

If it does'nt bother him...................................................................!

Is the husband saying it's an innocent trip the same as when a barging says "you are my first client" or "I'm not a barging, I work as a receptionist"?

Either that, or he is a student of Sukhothai architecture, and cannot stay away from it for long.

"He's got someone else,' the host said. 'He's going to Thailand to see someone else - male or female."

Las Vegas odds would put this scenario as your best bet .

Or... maybe he's building their dream home , and when it's all done he will surprise her with 2 tickets to Paradise ?   ( Naaaaaa ! )

if it's door #1,   Life's too short to go thru a miserable **** . man up , state your intentions and take care of business and do it properly.

You don't have to be a nuclear scientist to know what is going on.

He clearly sends money to his TGF and visits her.

IMO, this is a made up story just to fill column inches in newspapers and neither him, his wife or a gf exist .

Like who goes to Thailand regularly on Wednesdays ???? ?

I reckon that this is a made up story

You are a fool. Your stupidity is beyond belief. You come to a msg board to find some sort of sympathy? It's OBVIOUS what he's doing there. There are so many stupid people in the world and you are towards the top of the list. No wonder why he's looking for other female companionship.

Absolutely incredibly bizarre post.

this is Thailand why you think it is a TGF and not a TBF hey maybe this is why its none of her nusiness?

seems like those 48-years (and before) were likely WASTED!!

Thanks for playing.

Should have ran when you had the chance, probably stayed because of money.

now mad the money is leaving.

I'm sure he will send it ALL to Thailand just in spite of her.

nobody wins in these cases.

well, maybe a family in Thailand gets some money, if that's "winning."

"I just don't know what to do...I'm thinking, how long have I got?'"..... for what? To save your marriage? That ship has sailed. Move on. It's over.
