How long has she got is why the husband started doing his business over here it appears. But as another poster on here has alluded to, it ain't cheap to get a divorce in the UK and he seems to be hedging his bets for now that she won't file for divorce and is why he is visiting and possibly building a flush bank account....but then I could be totally wrong.

What's so special about this story. Just like me 10 years ago, and it happens all the time. When I left I hadn't slept with the old woman for 15 years.

I think Julie should be grateful that her husband still returns regularly to her. 

The alternative is that the husband will spend all his time and all his money in Thailand. No time and no money for Julie anymore.

 

And remember, there are many many temples in Thailand. It takes forever to visit them all.

On Tuesday she should ask hubby to drop her off at the airport. She is flying to Gambia to take golf lessons. Then start sending honey there to pay for her lessons.

Then put a picture of her instructor on the bedroom wall. An athletic looking Gambian man with bulges in all the right places. Any questions ? None of hubbys business. .

After 48 years of marriage, and working for his pension - let the guy have some fun while he's still breathing. The reason he's doing it "spontaneously" is likely because he doesn't want to deal with the nagging and drama or even worse - requests to take her with him. Some women seem to think they are entitled to be the final say in everything - grave error in the long run - wouldn't be surprised if he took her <deleted> for decades and finally broke and decided he just doesn't give a **** anymore.

Marriage is a two way street,  this type of behavior by any party is unacceptable " none of your business "

I suggest she wake up and smell the coffee and start to protect herself first and foremost the bank account. 

Next time he leaves  pack all his things set it at the door outside  change the lock get a good lawyer make the decision for him.

If they split it will almost certainly be a 50/50 split, he will move to Thailand and her, well she will be left with half the price of whatever house they live in once it's sold.

 

If they split she will get more than 50%>. He will lose everything and end up paying her support.

 

Let's face it he will have a hard time getting a court that will sympathy with him.

 

The reason he hasn't divorced or left her is he knows he would be screwed.

Better get a divorce ASAP before their savings are all gone. We all know how chaps like this one usually end up...

If he is sending money to Thailand  and visiting regularly he probably has 

a young Thai girl of the night who he is visiting and looking after ????

There will be plenty of other  guys doing the same ????
