FORMER WIFE ADMITS GUILT IN KILLING OF GERMAN POLICEMAN EX-HUSBAND IN PATTAYA

Police interrogated the former wife of a murdered German ex-policeman. She confessed that she was an accomplice in the murder and that she conspired with another former husband, an Italian, to hire a French gunman and a Thai gunman to kill him.

Pol.Col. Sarayut Sa-gnuenphokai, Superintendent, Banglamung, Pattaya, declared that police located Mrs. Roong-napha Sridet, (32) from Tak Province, who is the former wife of the murdered man, Mr. Heinrich Hermaan Friedrich.

Mrs.Roong-napha was legally married to Mr.Heinrich and had a son with him. She confessed that she was involved in the murder. She explained that she was involved in a legal dispute with Mr. Heinrich over land and a house which was worth about 10 million baht. Her ex-husband (Mr. Heinrich) won the court case and agreed to divide all properties with her in half under the condition that Mrs. Roong-napha sign a thirty year lease for Mr. Heinrich to live in the house. Mrs. Roong-napha said she consulted with another former husband, who is Italian, and he agreed to help her, by hiring a French gunman (Mr. Mark) and a Thai gunman to kill Mr. Heinrich.

Police are not entirely convinced as to the veracity of Mrs. Roong-napha’s account, but do believe that a foreigner was involved; as witnesses heard them speaking English before the killing.

The investigators rushed to detain Mrs. Roong-napha's former Italian husband. He resided at View Talay Condominium, Moo 12, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. He vigorously denied the accusation. Police said they need to investigate thoroughly to see if Mrs. Roong-napha’s implication of him is valid. They need more evidence in order to arrest the alleged perpetrator.

Suspected French Gunman arrested in German ex-cop murder case.

An update now on a case of murder we featured on 24th June involving a retired German Police Officer, Mr. Heinrich Herman Freidrich aged 63, who was brutally murdered in Soi Suksaboon in Nong Get Yai. Banglamung Police began an intense investigation and it soon became apparent that the victim’s former wife, Khun Roongnapa and another of her ex-husbands, an Italian National Mr. Fernando Nardini aged 53, were involved. They were arrested on 27th June and it soon became apparent that Khun Roongnapa contracted the killing of her German former Husband to a French National, Mr. Jean-Marc Andre Thivind aged 54. A profile of the suspected killer was quickly compiled and it was discovered that he is wanted back in France on charges of murder and had come to Thailand to escape from the French authorities. He had purchased a number of properties around Thailand but was thought to have fled to Sukothai Province in the North of Thailand. An arrest warrant was issued and a raid on a house was conducted, however, the suspect had somehow received prior notification of the raid and fled to a nearby Banana Plantation. After a 5 hour search the suspect was caught and transported to Banglamung. Mr. Thivind vehemently denied the allegations of murder despite evidence to the contrary including the seizure of a motorbike thought to have been used in the killing. Police are now conducting further investigations and for now Mr. Thivind is being held at Banglamung Police Station.
