Best way to go from CM to Pattaya.

It appears that one flies to either of the Bangkok airports, or to Utapao airport.

From there, a bus, or I imagine vans from the airports, or a private taxi.

I would opt for the private taxi.

Cost/Convenience advantage to one route over the others?

Can anyone recommend a taxi or private car service that I can book from any of these airports with me as the solo passenger?

About how much is the cost for this?

Any travel tips from the experienced?

Thank you.

To my surprise there seems to be a flight from CM (CNX) to U-Tapao (UTP) by LionAir.

It's not a daily flight, so check the schedule.

Usually you have to prearrange private taxi from UTP.

Advantage of UTP: closer and small airport much less congested than BKK. I drove by car last time because flying to/from BKK had become a pain in the a...

On the other hand there are tons of flights to Don Mueang (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi (BKK). The latter one being easier/shorter for going to Pattaya.

From BKK there are buses and taxis. Buses are about 1xx to 2xx Baht (I am not up-to-date with the latest prices). Taxis from the queue might ask for 1300 Baht or more.

Service that I used repeatedly and worked good is TomTaxi (proper limousines, good communication):

https://www.tomtaxiservice.com/

They ask for 800 Baht from UTP and 1000 Baht from BKK (all included).

Have you used them?

Yes.

Had to travel from Bangkok Central to Pattaya for a three hour meeting.  Driver picked me up on time at my hotel (Toyota Camry), dropped me off in Pattaya, then waited the three hours for me and drove me back to my hotel in Bangkok.

No charge for the waiting time, tolls and gas included in the price of the ride.

I'd go for UTP.

You are 200 Baht closer to clearing the bar fine than from BKK.

If it fit's the schedule of the OP.

It's only three flights per week.

BKK is bearable without checked baggage.

You then only have the delayed flight risk ????

Yes, sure. No shared transport.

And TomTaxi uses proper limousines or the Fortuner type of vehicles (which I like less).

It was deadpan humour commentary 'bro'...

As guys approach Pattaya bargirl-onomics takes over the mind....= 200 baht saving over Bkk..."Ooh, one step closer to BF out some hottie."

Pattaya transfer has a private car rate from UTP to Pattaya 899 b should take less then 45 minutes including tolls.  Number: +66993936644

Although available at arrival at UTP, I would never take the cheap mini bus again. I think it is around 200 b.  Full of people with garlic pizza breathe and dinging phones stop all over the place it took me almost 2 hours one time to reach my room.

Same to me. Once and never again.

And endless tour from hotel to hotel until getting to central Pattaya.

The driver was completely illiterate with English.

So a female "agent" at U-Tapao asked passengers for their destinations/hotels and wrote it in Thai script (phonetic) on a note for the driver.

When this cheapo bus turned into the Royal Cliff(!) compound I had a suspicion that this can't be right. And it wasn't

There you go Op...

Thai Lion Air - then Nams Taxi... seems like the simplest solution.

Nam's does not list UTP to Pattaya.

(Also does not have a phone number).

Before flying with Lion Air, I'd do some research on their safety record. This is an airline that was once banned from operating anywhere in the EU, due to its poor safety performance (along with other Indonesian airlines).

If it's a Lion Air flight then imagining it is as close as you're going to get.
