Luckyman999
I stay in Thailand with an Extension of Non-Immigrant-O-Visa, valid until September 2023. Yesterday I bought a new Motorbike and need a "Letter / Certificate of Residence". I would like to prepare all documents for immigration in Jomtien and also the needed form. In the internet I got the information that I need to fill out the form "TM18". I download TM.18 ..but the name of the form TM.18 is "Application for Substitute of Certificate of Residence" .. so my question: Whats the name of the relevant form to get the "Certificate of Residence" to buy a motorbike and where can I download the "Jomtien Version"? Which documents are needed? I would prefer to prepare all documents (including the form) before I go to the overcrowded Immigration Office. Thank you for advice
scubascuba3
There's an area on the forum with the form templates saved, have a look, it's pinned under visas. You need proof of address, copy rental agreement or blue or yellow book, 2 photos, form, 300 baht

That's a completely different thing for Permanent Residents.

As was pointed out ....that form is accepted at CW. Just check at Jomtien that they also use that. I have seen different forms at some offices.
CH1961
In 2018 I bought a motorcycle. To register my name in green book at DLT a CORD is needed. Immigration at Jomtien requested a copy of the sales contract to issue the COR. Edited March 27, 2023 by CH1961 spelling

Sent via EMS 1-2 weeks. Bit off topic as the OP asks about bike purchase. If obtaining certificate of residence for car and bike do not ticket both boxes on form that was posted earlier. Transport office will accept photocopy of certificate. If you tick car and bike they charge 400b at CW Edited March 27, 2023 by DrJack54

Ya, I don't believe photos are required as part of Immigration's Certificate of Residence certificate process... Though they are required later when a person actually applies for a DL at the Department of Land Transport.
TallGuyJohninBKK
Just noticing... the download link for the regular Residence Certificate application form appears to be broken/non-working on the national Immigration documents website (item #24 on the third page of their documents list): https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202 Just curious, can anyone explain what the difference is between the regular residence certificate application form that Kidney posted above vs. the TM 18 and TM20 "Application for Substitute of Certificate of Residence forms? Which oddly, unlike the basic form, both have spots for pasting in a photo. ------------------- Though I see BKK Immigration on their own separate website do have a link to a residence certificate application form, item #22 on their list. Microsoft Word doc... No TM number assigned. And no space for a photo on that form. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/downloads_en/ Edited March 28, 2023 by TallGuyJohninBKK
roger101
I have only shown them my electricity bill. That's always been enough when I go to Jomtien for my certificate. Theoretically it's free but I'll always paid 300 Baht.
