Which one is better? Going outside for a while or doing 45- day visa exemption extension in Lak Si?

Can you go outside Thailand to Cambodia, Malaysia, etc, for 1 day/night and return by airplane with no entry problem?

The visa exemption is no longer 45, but 30 days.

A visa extension cost only 1,900 baht so is a much cheaper way to get an additional 30 days in Thailand.

Extending your stay at your local immigration office is both quicker and cheaper than leaving and re-entering Thailand, so it's pretty much a no-brainer.
