Goodboybkk Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Dear all, What is the maximum number of visa exemption extension can you obtain at Lak Si? Can you get it monthy continuously for 6 months consecutively? Thanks 1
Popular Post Tod Daniels Posted April 20, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2023 It's a one and done sort of thing. You can get ONE 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry stamp. then you're done and need to exit/re-enter the country to get a new 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (which you can do two times by land in a calendar year) OR you need to go to a thai consulate in another country and buy a real tourist visa where you'll get stamped in for 60 days when you come back 1 2
StayinThailand2much Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Never heard of a limitation for visa-free entry extensions. Theoretically, you can get 2 visa exemptions per year if entering by land (more if you're Malaysian or from an ASEAN country), and an unlimited number if entering by air. (Practically, however, IOs at airports may refuse you entry if they think that you are "coming to often and/or staying too long" in Thailand... But once you're in country, no problem to get one 30-day extension. Edited April 20, 2023 by StayinThailand2much 1 1 1
BritTim Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Each time you enter Thailand visa exempt or with a tourist visa, you are entitled to a single 30-day extension of your permission to stay. 1 1

I believe the O/P is asking how many 30 day extensions you can get per entry. And that answer is ONE.. I think they are under the false impression that you can get more than one 30 day extension per entry you cannot. That's why I use the term "1-n-done" . You can get one 30 day extension per entry.

You can get one 30 day extension per entry. I think, technically, you can get another 7 days, which is, basically, an extension denial. If someone just needs another 7 days, maybe worth it. But for most it's not. Edited April 21, 2023 by StayinThailand2much
