So exactly how much would you say your child is worth to you ? This lady has lost an income, yes, but she has lost potentially 40 years with daughter - how due you value time ?

Please......do you think we just came up the Mekong in a banana boat?

So the deceased was going to give 179,000,000 baht to her mother? Why else would the mother demand 'compensation'? Pathetic woman.

If I’m not mistaken... The mother was also ‘somewhat estranged’ from the Daughter after a divorce when the actress (Tangmo) was 3 years old and only recently before the death of Tangmo reconnected.

She fell off a boat and drowned.   Sad but it happens.   Boating accidents.   Why is this even a case?  I feel sorry for the other people on the boat dragged in on something that would have not been anything except for her being famous.

She is suing for a compensation fee of 179 million baht.

What price a mother's love?

I stand corrected.  Based on what an officer actually earns on the books, that probably compensated the family for lost wages.  Maybe.  Maybe not.

It was reported at the time that he wasn't supporting a family with his wages.

Not only that, her motherhood itself is in question as Panida’s (the alleged mother’s) ID number was not recorded on Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong's Birth Certificate.

AND... Didn’t she ‘forgive for a price’ of 30 MB in around March 2022... then rejected it after public outcry, then accepted 10 MB later in Sept 2022 ??

This reads simply as the mother being money hungry and nothing about wanting justice for the death of Tangmo.

Both you and @bangkokbarry have been here a long time and should know better.  Justice in Thailand equates to money.  Pure and simple.  The higher the death price paid, the more just the outcome is in the eyes of the public.  The Thai HiSos mixed up in the cluster <deleted> will never do a day in jail.  It is all about money here, always has been and always will be.

And...you are both overlooking the issue of face.  Of course the Mother will request a ridiculously high amount.  That is to save face for both her and her dead daughter.  You see the same mindset at work when Thai set a ridiculously high sales price on a mediocre property.

It is all about money here, always has been and always will be.

Well, glad that this point is sorted - the price tag attached to the victim clocks 179 million ....... and the mother is certainly not weak once it comes to accounting matters!
But, as history proved more often already, what you want is one thing and what you get is another.

The challenge that MOMMY needs to remember is that they were annual contracts.  No company, especially here, will offer a contract to represent them as a Pretty for 10 years.  There are too many new younger and prettier girls that will work cheaper.

My Thai wife says the mother is a greedy woman who dumped her daughter when the daughter was young and only went back into her daughters life when her daughter started making money!
