Immigration And Employment Department Officials Round Up Illegal Workers Around Chonburi Province

We joined Immigration Police Officers based in Pattaya who ran this operation in conjunction with the Department of Employment a division of the Ministry of Labor at the Barinda City Village in Chonburi District on Wednesday Afternoon as they conducted a search of the site after receiving a tip-off that illegal foreign nationals were working at this construction site. At this location, 13 Burmese and 4 Laos Nationals were arrested after they could not produce passports or work permits.

The Thai employer of the workers, Khun Anuchit aged 22 was also detained. Following this operation, the officers made their way to the Triumph Company in Pantong District here in Chonburi Province. A total of 8 illegal Cambodian Workers were found and taken back to the Immigration Office in Pattaya along with the Laos and Burmese arrestees. They will all be deported back to their respective countries at the earliest opportunity.
