oboronitel
Hi all) I found a refurbished macbook at a good price in Amazon (USA) and plan to order it from Thailand. It can't be shipped directly, so I need to find some someone or proxy shipping company for this. Perhaps someone is planning a trip from the US to Thailand (ideally Koh Samui). Or knows who is planning such a trip. I'm ready to pay a 200$ as well as fresh fruit in addition for a shiping a macbook. In addition, I can help with travel / accommodation / island advices (I have been here for a year). Now I'm looking for some agency/shipping company, but shipping through someone is more reliable as for my opinion. The question will be relevant within 2-4 weeks. I saw information about such a transport company on FB. https://www.facebook.com/tashippingghttps://www.facebook.com/usa2thaihttps://www.facebook.com/Send2Thaihttps://www.facebook.com/1stshippingthailand The price looks good (about 800 thb per kg) + somehow they say that you don’t need to pay customs duty, it is already in the price. In general laptop is duty free, but there is a 7% Value Added Tax. So in right way it need to be +7% to a price of used (refurbished) macbook. But I am very worried about sending an expensive laptop through this FB shipping companys. Is there anyone who uses the services of such/similar agency? Maybe someone can ask Thai people about this shipping compamies? If someone has experience of sending a laptop to Thailand from the USA, please, share your experience. What service did you use and how much did it cost? I would be very happy to know more about this. Edited May 7, 2023 by oboronitel
MrJ2U
Why don't you peruse the Amazon Global Shipping options for laptops. I've had many laptops sent from Amazon with no problem. You might have to buy new but you'll get a better warranty and there not much more than refurbished. Anything better than buying overpriced and underpowered laptops in Thailand. Courier into Thailand is known for getting hit by customs.

Supposedly no import tax for laptops, computers, etc. Amazon has returned any extra that they figure into the whole delivery that isn't charged. They'll break everything down in the final figure before sending. You can see the costs for everything. Edited May 8, 2023 by MrJ2U

oboronitel
Yes, my typo. Macbook of course I did not find how to edit this, apparently it will remain. About the delivery mac directly by Amazon - the seller does not deliver to Thailand, unfortunately.
