Mr. Lagoda stands accused of a particularly ghastly crime - the murder and subsequent dismemberment of his Ukrainian girlfriend.

It makes me wonder sometimes what drives someone at such a young age to do such a thing...

Lagoda Filippow Jan Jerzy

Jan Jerzy Lagoda-Filippow

That makes more sense now for a Polish name.
The Lagoda might stem from a marriage?

A person of this name has registered a one man company in the UK.

Might or might not be him.

It looks like an impulsive crime. No planning even 5 minutes ahead.

What about the saw....in a rented condo?

Does that hotel have "saw" equipped rooms......?   ????

".....sharp wounds on the neck and shoulder and left wrist cut off. A saw was found next to her body."

Or:- "Her body was reportedly cut into multiple parts and a saw was found left in her mutilated remains, said Wat Phraya Krai police."

Communication breakdown?

Nope. These are 2 reports, right?

So likely 2 different witnesses arrived to the scene at different times and saw 2 different "events":

First one was about left wrist and saw, the second was about multiple parts and no saw.

Obviously the third witness won't see anything - RPT would clean the crime scene by that time.

The article at daily-mail gives better picture, that ^^^. However looking at that monster Jan - he doesn't look 25, rather 47 - bold and ugly, how that woman even considered working with him? Probably out of desperation?

Also, that's expensive hotel, sorta posh one.

Something is missing. again.

Not being pedantic but surely they are all part of the same article, so somewhere along the line the facts have to be corroborated?

And "the second was about multiple parts and no saw."? Sorry but the second says " a saw was found left in her mutilated remains"

Anyway, it's all academic really - a horrible crime, and I see that the Polish guy has now been arrested - good work by the RTP.

P.S. How do you know his name is Jan? And from the pic, he is not bald? (I see from a previous post he is supposedly called Jan Jerzy Lagoda-Filippow, but nothing in the OP mentions a a name - just wondering where it came from?

Very very sick and/ or very scared. Early days but this sounds like a botched attempt to reduce the evidence to parts that fit in a bag or suitcase for removal from the scene.

I always say Thailand needs to be more selective when permitting foreigners from certain countries to enter Thailand.  Repeal Visa on Arrival and Visa Free entry for countries like Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Romania, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, China and some other countries. Most of the so-called "Quality tourists" (sarcastic) arrive from the above mentioned countries. Let them obtain a proper visa at Thai Consulate in their home country before they are allowed to enter Thailand.

The Daily Mail has an "interesting" twist to this story if people feel like criticizing the accuracy of journalism.

"Boyfriend SAWED Ukrainian model to death at luxury Bangkok apartment and then used Google Translate to help get rid of body"

"Lagoda-Filippow flagged down a taxi, whose driver Surachai Sabaibang later called the hotel to inform them of the Pole's erratic behaviour after his passenger allegedly used the Google Translate app to ask for help cutting up a body."

Who can we possibly believe?

Why so many sick people travel to Thailand and end up as killers , only after a few weeks.   What else did he do in the past? Just released from prison?
