Report Phuket Fines Over 28,000 Foreign Tourists for Traffic Offences in 2025
Most likely because the number of Thais caught seriously show the police only focused on stopping the foreigners. We all know what good drivers the Thais are and that they do not need to be stopped and checked.. -

Accident Woman Killed by Speeding Pickup Truck While Crossing Road in Lopburi
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A 73-year-old woman was fatally struck by a speeding pickup truck while attempting to cross a main road in Khok Samrong district, Lopburi province. The driver claimed he was unable to stop in time as the woman suddenly stepped into the road. Police Captain Phusit Muangmoo, investigating officer at Khok Samrong Police Station, was notified of the incident at approximately 17:30. The accident occurred along Phahonyothin Road between kilometre markers 183 and 184 in Wang Khon Khwang Subdistrict. Emergency responders arrived to find the victim, identified as Mrs. Supin Chantrat, lying in the road with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was transported to Khok Samrong Hospital for examination. Relatives at the scene were inconsolable as they gathered around the site of the collision. Nearby, police discovered a green Ford Ranger pickup truck, registration number from Bangkok, with visible front-end damage and bloodstains. The driver, Mr. Narongdet, 48, told police he had been driving from Lopburi towards Khok Samrong when the incident occurred. He explained that he saw the elderly woman apparently waiting at the roadside to allow the car in front of him to pass. Assuming she would remain stationary, he continued at speed. However, she began crossing just as his vehicle approached. “It happened so fast. She stepped out suddenly. I didn’t have time to brake or swerve,” he said. Mr. Narongdet did not flee the scene and waited to surrender himself to authorities. Police recorded the scene and took the driver into custody for further questioning. Legal proceedings are now underway. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-06-24 -

C’mon, Mike, it was quite amusing. But better the alternative than to leave them be today and have nukes flying around tomorrow? -
