LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
That is because DTA are treaties between two countries and if one country decides they don't like it, they have need to advise 6 months in advance that they are cancelling it. But i think that the DTA with Thailand and the 61 countries will remain in effect and from all that I have heard the DTA will override any local tax law. AS for the exemption by royal decree, it states that the DIRGEN of the revenue department could wipe that out too but I also don't think that will happen unless they grandfather all those already with an LTR. Hopefully, the Revenue Dept might make a clarifying statement on the worldwide income taxation plans but...who knows, daily it seems more and more complaints about the current government from other branches of the government so who knows if they will no fade away and a new govt might come to power with really different ideas. Best of luck to all. -

Australian Aged Pension
An ex-serviceman can not be on both pensions. It's due to receiving other forms of incomes and thresholds. I'll go an edit that post now and ask whether the member thinks he should be able to receive both pensions. -

Brace for a downpour: 42 provinces in for a wet and wild ride
Yeah they were right it's dumping now in mountains outside of Chiang Mai. It rained all of yesterday but today it stopped so I decided to sneak out for a bike ride to see how it is. I get further up the mountain and into a thick fog and rain. Totally soaked by the time I got back home. I'll expect some more land slides and flooding tomorrow from this one. It is lovely weather if you're inside and dry. fog 2.mov -

14-Year-Old Girl Fatally Stabs Grandmother Following Heated Argument
Education is free. However uniforms are not. When my son was at school he had 5 white shirts, 5 blue shorts, 2 tracksuit tops and bottoms, 3 pairs of plimsolls (1 for sports), and at 1 point, scout uniform. The shirts had the school name embroidered on them and his name had to be embroidered as well, the track suits had the school name on them too. He grew out of the uniforms every year or 2 and wore the shoes out about twice a year. He also had to have a back pack with the school name on it. Add to that I used to give him pocket money, starting at around 20 thb a day and in his last year in M6 he was on 100 thb a day. Back in the UK there used to be jumble sales and a shop that bought and sold old school clothes provided that they were washed, clean and in good repair. Nothing like that at the schools my son went to in Thailand. That is one reason why education in Thailand is expensive. Just wait until you see the cost of uniforms and the list of requirements at an international school, and boarding schools are even more expensive.
