US TV late-night star Conan O’Brien to feature Bangkok in HBO travel show in possible tourism boost

The filming of the show took place in May and should help boost Western tourists to the kingdom with figures showing the majority of the 9.47 million visitors to the country this year were from Asia with fears that Bangkok may lose its lustre as the most visited city in the world.

Former US late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien is getting ready to release a show on Bangkok which is due to air on HBO Max, the popular US-based streaming TV service in the coming year as part of his ‘Conan Without Borders’ series.

One of America’s longest-running late-night talk show hosts has been working in recent weeks in Bangkok with a broadcast understood to be in the pipeline promoting the world’s most visited city.

Will it be a  "warts and all" show or just the usual Amazing Thailand BS

I had to google him as I've never heard of him.  Seems he is an American T.V personality.

I watched him for years on NBC and TBS.  His best days are behind.  I saw a few clips of him in BKK and in one bit he actually officiates a wedding.  So it looks promising but if it is on HBO it might not have a wide audience.  Also, his fan base is mostly Americans so might not have huge impact on tourism into LOS.

Conan is a comedy genius. 

Hopefully it will be up on Youtube at some point.

For now, there is just some "best of" clips. No Thailand in it.

It's a new show is called "Conan O'Brien Must Go". For those who haven't heard of him, he's a living comedy legend who wrote classic episodes of The Simpsons waaaaay back when it was still good, he also wrote for Saturday Night Live, and hosted a scrappy late night chat show for several decades. He now hosts a podcast called "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend" which really finds him in his element. It's unscripted and he improvises and does bits constantly. He's very likely insufferable to be around in person, but as an entertainer, he's the best.

My Google says he is aka as Conan the Barbarian and is really Arnold Schwartzenegger.

well ... he's the first person to attempt combining comedy with travel blogs. so it's innovative.
