Popular Post webfact
The national police are investigating an alleged bribery scheme that enables cargo trucks to bypass checkpoints on highways. The police chief has instructed inspectors throughout the country to look into the matter and take action against any implicated officers. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a member of the Move Forward party, revealed that truck operators make monthly payments to police officers in exchange for stickers that allow their vehicles to pass through checkpoints. Responding to the allegation, the Royal Thai Police Commissioner General has issued an order for the Office of Inspector General to investigate the claim. Wiroj, together with the Land Transport Federation of Thailand and highway police officers, will be summoned to provide statements. Popular Post ChrisY1
Apart from the usual RTP corruption that seems never ending here in Thailand, the ridiculous situation whereby the cops investigate themselves….bearing in mind that those at the top are the primary beneficiaries to their own corruption schemes, is simply a huge cover up scheme to get media to forget this news. Forgetting news here, happens all the time…no-one ever gets to hear the outcomes of so called “investigations”, as the media, with their incredibly short memories, just wash these types of stories away. 5

worgeordie
Investigate or cover up , are the stickers still on the trucks ,paying money so trucks can be dangerously overloaded and allowed to travel the roads, that is really serious and needs to be vigorously investigated , heads should roll. regards worgeordie

Pedrogaz
I think I can smell a cover up in the works......let's have an independent investigation. If the RTP were handing out the overload passes, then the RTP should not be investigating.
