If their computer system was up to scratch they wouldn't have entered the country anyway too late once they are here how about the 90 day report don't they scan them then backwards people

If everything was up to scratch here cobber you wouldn't be able to afford it. You'd be paying 20 bucks a pint like back home in Astraya. Be careful what you wish for...

I love this country's approach to immigration.  The best in the world.  Come in and do not violated the time they give you and leave.

I wish America would be as smart as Thailand.

Oh, you mean America the nation inhabited by 300 million descendants of immigrants?

Waste of ressources.

They ready should use all the ressources to crack down on the Millionss of traffic offenders. Why not do something important and save some lifes.

Further, im the moment the IO lock up an overstay person, they become also an criminal because of international human rights violation for their treatment and unlawful lockup with worse conditions than animals.

What? you are locked up at the moment for overstaying?

Assuming that the above photo is mostly of folks who have been rounded up by Immigration somewhere, don't see many, if any, farangs among this group.

Except that the couple of guys at the right edge in uniform look like they need some extra hours in the gym after work....

Headline:-"Immigration Division 1 Mobilizes Forces to Sweep Out Overstaying Foreigners in Bangkok"

First paragraph of post:- "..... cracking down on foreign nationals with Interpol arrest warrants or engaged in inappropriate behavior while residing in Thailand."

So, all overstaying foreigners are either wanted by Interpol, or guilty of "inappropriate behaviour" (multitude of sins!)

(And yes, I did read the rest of the post!)

Reading that report , it would seem they are classing all and every one overstayer as a danger to society, criminal, damage risk to the country ! Most of them are just that, overstaying. The real baddies and criminals should stick out like a sore thumb, as did the Chinese gangs running illegal casinos and call centers! Took the police a while to sus that out didn’t it ? Any Thai reading  that article will likely put all male foreigners into the same sack, the description of these foreigners is way over the top. Why not crack down on real criminals ?
Why not close down or give heavy fines to landlords of condos , houses, etc who do not declare their renters.
Why not check who really owns all those houses with land near beaches , and multiple businesses in cities , Bangkok for a start ?

Immigration should be the ones under investigation we just returned back from a week in the Philippines,, my passport was looked at very well but I got in my Laotian girlfriend who's been here on an Ed visa and studying every week unlike the Russians that have no intention of doing that,, well she was on her last day and they refused to give her any time not even a tourist visa, instead they threatened her with being sent back to Singapore until she paid them 5000 baht which after I entered I pulled out my wallet in front of there cctv cameras and counted out the money the officer Mr Buathong a 3 stripper with immigration pointed out the cameras but still took the cash and then in minutes we were at the counter having a new tourist stamp put into her passport and off we went,,, I really wish there was a way to report this prick to someone that might do something

Absolute rubbish.

If you are on overstay then you are here illegally. The Immigration Police are doing the job they are paid for.

If anyone wishes to disregard any laws. regulations or laws in Thailand, for whatever reason, then that is up to them , but don't start bleating when there are consequences.

Why did anybody ever allow them to enter Thailand?

Exactly, that is the reason that this Interpol red-flag system exists in the first place. So these people can be identified and bared from entering at an airport. But I understand, the officer didn't do a good job and didn't check the passport against the interpol list.

Yeah very important to get out all wellpayig foreigners that keep Thailand alive. As long as this country does not care about law and order and especially not among the county's officials, there is no credibility behind anything Thai police is doing against law breaking foreigners...

Interesting, I note that there's no such thing as an 'Interpol arrest warrant' though.

Warrants are issued by jurisdictions, Interpol has a messaging system which communicates these, they are known as 'red notices'.

They have NOTHING to do with issuing arrest warrants - which is why they don't exist.

Badly phrased I admit, but "red notices" do allow for arrest and detention pending extradition determination.

I always say if they want to stop the corruption then start at the airports,
