WASHINGTON, July 10 (Reuters) - The federal prosecutor overseeing the criminal case against U.S. President Joe Biden's son Hunter on Monday said the Justice Department never impeded him from bringing charges, appearing to debunk claims made by an Internal Revenue Service whistleblower.

 

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss in a letter to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham denied allegations that he ever formally sought permission from Attorney General Merrick Garland to be designated as special counsel - a status that would have allowed him to bring federal charges in any district across the nation against Hunter Biden.

 

"I have not requested Special Counsel designation," wrote Weiss, who was appointed by Republican former President Donald Trump.

According to Dr. Luft he was interviewed in Brussels by two DOJ prosecutors and four FBI agents, in March 2019.

 

So the Trump DOJ sat on this "information" for nearly two years, including during the election?

And as I've pointed out before, he maintained contrary to what most legal experts opined, that Durham had 2 strong cases to make as a result of his investigation. We know how that turned out. He also strongly supported Aileen Cannon's determination that a special master should be appointed in the Mar-a-Lago case. Again, most experts pointed out how bizarre that decision was. And ultimately it got sneered out of court by a 3 judge panel including 2 conservative ones appointed by Trump.
