Mysterious Fire In Parking Lot

Featured Replies

A mysterious fire occurred in the parking lot of Ekthana Apartments located at Rong-Poh, Takiantia, at around 2 am on Monday 9th July.

A motorbike was alight in the apartment’s parking area, which then spread out to burn more than 10 other bikes.

The Banglamung Police quickly went to the scene together with firemen to stop the fire.

The police then inspected the parking lot of the 3 storey 30 room apartments.

It was found that amongst the 20 motorbikes parked there, 7 were completely destroyed and 5 other motorbikes were badly burned. Other than that the roof of the parking space had also suffered fire damage. The approximate damage is about 100 thousand Baht.

The first person who noticed the fire was Mr. Aphichai, aged 23, who resides there. He stated that his room was next to the parking space. At first he heard an explosion outside so ran out to see the fire burning a jazzed up motorbike and then spreading very fast. He couldn’t put it out so quickly called the police.

The police are investigating on how the fire started. There are two thoughts that the police suspect; one is that the jazzed up bike’s electrical system must have sparked, or else someone must have deliberately started the fire.
