BANGKOK, July 21 (TNA) – The Pheu Thai party becoming the main party to lead the formation of a new government will seek more support from MPs of other political parties and senators to ensure its candidate will secure enough parlimentary votes in selecting a new prime minister next week.

The party led by Cholnan Srikaew told a news conference Friday afternoon after the election-winning Move Forward party announced to let Pheu Thai which came second in the election to take the lead. Pheu Thai thanked MFP for the handover of the leading role and said it would discuss the matter with eight-party prospective coalition allies later today.

Are they planning to recriminalize cannabis still? If so, <deleted>.

Yes. It was PT campaign policy. Thaksin has always had a hard line on drugs, as in his murderous war on drugs. It will be interesting to see, if Anutin puts up a stand, as Thaksin is going to need his 71 seats soon.

They are going to have to promise, in public, that

they will not now, or ever pursue any reforms to the Monarchy

they will not now or ever change the Constitution

they will not now or ever restrict the Military, or do away with Conscription

they will not now or ever restrict monopolies

they will support the concept of an unelected Senate, and allow the current Senate to select their replacements

they will agree to table the return of Thaksin for another five years

Will never happen. The horse has bolted on that one. Too many big players and too much money involved now. Nothing any of these politicians say can be believed. A ship of self serving lying fools. It is Thailand and all that matters is money. Thaksin has been going to return for how many years?

Nothing will change.

Yes, exactly.  Promise all that, get into power, and then reject all that.  The public will understand the tactics and what's actually going on.  PT and FF need to start playing like the dinosaurs.  It does no good to choose the high road if you never get in the driver's seat.

Anutin, will end up PM, that's the way it's looking, but hopefully when the constitution expires things will change, there is going to be protests, but what the outcome of the protests will be is anyone's guess, very sad for democracy in Los, but good for you know who

Anutin or Prawit for PM.

Prawit is the sentimental favorite, payback for his years of suppression, and has climbed to the top of leaderboard significantly today.

PTP will have to give up the PM, but will demand significant troughage in return for laying down.

Bonus: Thaksin gets a Royal Pardon and can return home, unscathed, in this two-player deal with management.

MFP will need to be erased, using the "Law", "Courts" and "a commission or two".

Prawit is not politically acceptable. It would look like the Junta is again in power. I am also not sure he is well perceived at the top.

Anutin has less stains and better fits the image of a 'compromise' PM.

Thaksin also doesn't need Prawit to get a pardon.
