snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai government has welcomed the chairman of the Majlis ash-Shura, or Consultative Assembly, of Saudi Arabia and his delegation to discuss bilateral trade and investment. His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Consultative Assembly and the delegation, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha on the occasion of his official visit to Thailand as the guest of the Senate. The Prime Minister welcomed and thanked the delegation for their visit to Thailand. He also said he believed the visit would further strengthen legislative relations and cooperation, especially in exchanging legal and regulatory views conducive to cooperation promotion between the two nations. Both sides agreed to continue forging cordial diplomatic relations for mutual prosperity. Trade and investment cooperation will also be promoted, especially investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Saudi Arabia is considering visa exemptions for Thai special passport holders and tourists. The two parties also came to terms with promoting cooperation under multilateral frameworks such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Diplomatic relations between Thailand and Saudi Arabia were fully restored following the Prime Minister’s historic visit to Saudi Arabia last year at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Defense Minister, and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. Since then, both parties have signed agreements on energy, tourism, trade, investment, and other areas. The prime minister also reaffirmed his commitment to laying the foundation for the incoming government to continue with efforts to maintain cordial relations and cooperation with Saudi Arabia. How I wish the governments of the world would say to Thailand, we'll start talks after a democratically elected government and publicly elected PM are installed. Not voted out by a hand selected senate via a self elected leader after a coup.

That's a Western conceit, though how democratic the West really is, nowadays, is open to debate.

It's still better than being openly rigged as it is here.
