1. Good to see other 2 officers “helping”

2. If this was in US he would of been shot

3. if this was in other less violent countries , he would if been tasered om the spot

Yes I thought the police were quite well behaved, the guy seemed to have an issue with only one of the police. He sounded Chinese, and if this happened in NZ or Australia or most other countries he would have been tazered or shot.

I hope the Thais deported him.

    1. Never attack a policeman. It usually does not end well. 2. If he had done that in the US, there is a good chance he would have been shot dead. 3. The cops behaved very cool. I give them c

In a USA airport he would have been tasered by all of the security guards instantly and dragged off to a jail cell. That's if he was lucky! There's a high probability one of the guards would pull his pistol and filled him with holes.

Great to see all these posts about the US. Not that this news article has a thing to do with the USA, but lets face it, who really cares what happens in Thailand, anyway.

I lived in China for 13 years. I lived in Taiwan for 3 years before China.

He is CLEARLY speaking Mandarin Chinese with a mainland accent.

If you need me to break down what he's saying I'll give it a go, but it's a beautiful Saturday, and I don't want to waste time in front of a screen.

No, in the US he wouldn't have been shot, he would've been been tackled and cuffed by two or 3 officers immediately, or if there was only one officer, he would've been tasered, then cuffed.

You clearly have some immature biases about the US.

My bad, he was wrong color to just be shot

What color do you have to be?

You’re taking the piss obviously!

it’s an offence to assault police.  Why the cops didn’t drop him and arrest him I can’t imagine. They did nothing!

Correct, should have arrested and charged, but he is Chinese and they do not want to upset them, because it may affect tourism. Its all about the $$$

Not Chinese.  More like Japanese, or as other posters have suggested, Korean.

Confirmed as Chinese in later press.

Same as IQ but lightly  higher

As most Chinese are seen as the saviors of Thailand they get preferential treatment. In no circumstances must any incidents showing a Chinese national being seen arrested or being treated inappropriately could cause an international situation Thailand cannot afford to lose it damages the Thailand Tourism Trade. I'm surprised the next video or photo shots were the Thai officers waing the Skateboarder and handing him the obligatory bunch of flowers or basket of fruit.

If you search "chinese arrested in thailand" ut delivers 11 million google results, and versus Europeen 38 million, then you can brake it down if you want for each nationality. Wondering which country have to most results. Just did a search on British, go ahead and see for yourself.

Thais are sometimes good at getting the problem solved, and since it was friday at what time?

Yes, I saw that, thanks.  Also an explanation of what really happened, i.e. he was denied boarding due to his disruptive behaviour.

Correct, he was a fruitcake that some here are defending.....????

You mean skirmish between Chinese national and police !!!!

The media is very obviously pro Chinese given nearly every other news report on a foreign person in Thailand thats involved in something illegal are named by their country of origin but when its a Chinese national its a "foreigner"

A fracas erupted at Don Mueang International Airport as a foreign man attempted to assault a police officer with a skateboard, resulting in a significant online reaction. The skateboard incident occurred yesterday according to a video posted by TikTok user @angpao.cn.

The clip, which rapidly stirred up an online storm, shows a foreign national assumed to be of Asian descent arguing with a police officer. He tries to strike the officer with a skateboard repeatedly, with two other officers observing from nearby without intervening.

In response to the man’s aggression, the officer attempts to retaliate, unsuccessfully using his baton to counter the skateboard attacks. Nevertheless, the conflict isn’t de-escalated even when the two standing-by policemen try to mediate. The video ends there, leaving the cause of the dispute unclear and provoking a wave of online comments.

“I don’t understand why the two other officers didn’t do anything while their colleague was nearly assaulted.”

Skateboarding is in the Olympics. It's actually a very difficult sport, that teaches the person doing it a lot of mental strength as well as the physical upshots.

Pretty sure he wasn't an Olympiqn.
