"Big Joke" Joins Ceremony to Destroy 70,000 Confiscated Firearms

On August 11, at the Millcon Steel Group factory, Rayong Province, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surachet "Big Joke" Hakparn, led the ceremony to destroy confiscated firearms.

 

Pol. Lt. Gen. Sompong Chingduang, Special Advisor to the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, and other high-ranking officers were present, reported Siam Rath.

This event follows Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha's policy to curb illegal weapons and ensure citizens' safety.

 

Pol. Gen. Damrongsak Kittiprapas, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, initiated the operation to dismantle illegal arms networks.

 

The destroyed firearms, numbering 33,764, were sponsored by Millcon Steel Group. The National Police Headquarters had previously authorized the disposal of confiscated firearms, ensuring they won't be misused in criminal activities.

Another portion of confiscated firearms, totaling 38,672, was destroyed at police stations across the nation. Pol. Lt. Gen. Surachet Hakparn stated that this act builds trust within the community, preventing misused arms and promoting citizens' well-being.

The ongoing efforts align with the government's goal to maintain public safety, supported by the Prime Minister's commitment to the citizens' welfare.
