I'm constantly boggled at posters that live in Thailand and really hate so much about the place.

I loved almost every day I woke up in that country, and rarely wasted my time complaining about the people that lived in it.

Better things to do than that.

A near total misinterpretation of the facts. I love Thailand. I do have some issues with the place. Big difference. This is a forum. We tend to vent here.

Perhaps you met different girls to myself.

Over many years I went with many girls in a few different places, Phuket, Bkk, Pattaya, the gulf islands, and never once had one with a story like that.

Perhaps I was lucky, or perhaps it was because I never got a takeaway while drunk.

I barely drink, so I never get drunk. They all have stories.

The guy was just making comments about the immaturity of the  people, not the country or saying he hated anything at all.

Is it really common for tourists to marry bargirls?  How do they fit it in if they're only here on holiday?  It's difficult enough for expats who live here, to marry in Thailand and even more so to get their girl a visa to marry in their home country.

Yes. Most Thai -foreign marriages the couples live in a country other than Thailand.

Most blokes dont want to live in Issan or Pattaya.

Gives the hooker a chance to reinvent herself.

Not everyone spends their 17 years in Thailand banging away 80,000 posts trolling trolls on social media.

I dont think i have ever posted here after 6pm because i go out every night or have girls or friends over. I dont think I have ever posted on a weekend either.

Life is too short for that.

I doubt families that live in the area frequent the places that you may.

There is more to the place than your and Goaty's hangouts.????

impossible to avoid the hooker scene in Pattaya. It is spread out from Jomtien to Naklua to the Darkside.

It s basically one big brothel with a scattering of 7/11s, shops and schools. Baht buses are full of sex tourists and whores, the wins cart them around etc etc.

They are in the restaurants, the malls, the tourist attractions, in the hotels holding hands.

It would be impossible to go out in Pattaya for the day and not come across them.

Have you ever been to Pattaya?

-And the 50% that stayed married don't look so happy either. I see mostly couples who eat in silence in a restaurant. Among my older married friends, maybe 10% should even bother to stagger on together.

Most marriages have people who aren't happy with their arrangement. Either they are unrealistic about what they "deserve" in their marriage, or the other person is. Takes two people that want a marriage to last. One can do everything right, and be living with damaged goods that will never understand what real is, that brings so much emotional baggage from either childhood, previous relationships, or both, that they can function in a normal relationship.Attraction at first isn't a choice. just happens.   Morality makes marriages last, if both are moral thinkers. trust needs to be given and taken by both. Let no one in that bond from the outside. Many people stay married because of the financial problems they would have if they divorced, so they stay miserable but secure. Friendship makes a marriage last.                                                                                                              Communication keeps people together. Here, it's hard to communicate unless the Thai wife knows your language well. I also see couples eating together, both here and in the US, that say nothing to each other. That's the reason you go out together in the first place! To communicate while you're enjoying food together.                                                                                                         Having toxic people around ruins many relationships. In many places, it's best to get away from in laws because a lot will cause strife between the couple because of their own agendas. Having a narcissist for a partner is a marriage doomed to fail. having someone with depression is a very hard daily struggle. You have to really love that other person and try and understand what they are going through, because most up and run out when the mood swings happen much of the time. Been there, done that, still trying. My brother was married for 44 years before he passed a few years back. Him and his wife, both as stubborn as any I've known, argued, loved, and had two kids together, but never cheated on, hit or neglected each other. She misses him every day. They always talked to each other.

Yes, and I originally wanted to bring my ex and our daughter to the US to live. She didn't want to leave her family. They all can't stand each other for the most part. She complained about her mom, a couple of sisters and one brother. The others were in other cities so they had little or no contact. I should have insisted. Now I have to wait awhile before I can re locate back home with my daughter, so she can have a better life.

The question is how much time do you spend in these places, given your smear campaign against bar girls on here? I'm willing to venture a lot more than you would care to admit.

Probably a lot more than 95% of the posters here. 50-100 times per year, one or twice per week.

I socialise every night, most often on dates with normal women which could be to anywhere, if I am with a mixed sex Thai group usually a Thai style pub with food, table service and live music, or with certain friends or friends of friends from Oz that have no hope of pulling a normal woman I often end up in gogos.

Prefer the gogos over a beer bar as you dont actually have to talk crap with a clothed woman, in gogos you can just get drunk with your mates while the naked girls entertain.

One of my favorite questions in bars and gogos is "what do you do for a living?" if i do get stuck talking to them.

I tell them I can not buy them drinks because I am muslim and i can not pay them for sex because it would be immoral.

Pattaya gogos are the best by a mile. And seemed to be improving with every year before covid constanly trying to outdo the best they had before. 40 years of fine tuning. But it hasnt yet got back to the peak and has slipped back since covid.

Bangkok and Phuket the girls often have self esteem which i dont like but doesnt really matter if you dont talk to them anyway and they lack the awesome, almost circus, vibe that Pattaya has.

Samui is krap.

Never been to a CM one, but heard they were crap and now nonexistant?

Anywhere else? Cant recall.

Only one friend I have known here is bold enough to tell others his wife was a bargirl when he met her. Most invent all kinds of stories. She is a university grad. She only served drinks at a bar. She worked as a hotel concierge. Etc.

Just a paltry strip of shacks off of the night market. Some real grannies in the mix too.

I have yet to meet a foreigner who could speak Thai well who has married a hooker.

When I suspect it (it is usually so obvious) I will usually ask the girl in Thai language where/how they met and it amazes me how honest they are about it.

Then the bloke will give me some other krap story.????

As you frequent those places on a regular basis, I would expect you to have knowledge of the seedy areas etc, but Pattaya is more than your sex life...:whistling:

Been to Pats once or twice, can't remember, for a Burger King fix on my way to Sattahip....:licklips:

Bottom line is...if you weren't having successful female relationships in your home country...

you won't be having them here. You're still a loser.

Back home in Nebraska or Manchester, would you be bringing home a 23 year-old hooker to meet your family...?

Who professionally screwed at least one guy a day...30 guys a month...360 guys a year, and say..."Mom and Dad, this is my new girlfriend...???!!!"

What goes on tour stays on tour.????????

You have done 80,000 in 17,500 or 4,500 per year.

I could never do that many, i have other things on.

Dark room, hmmmm, more assumptions, I am sitting, looking out the French doors, across the lake, with the water slowly drifting past.

Of course for you, that is nothing compared to your Pattaya wandering, your better things to do........????

What part of @spidermike007's post makes you think he "hates" Thailand?  Can't people who live here criticise the culture/people?

I reckon he hates it from what he posts.

He's always complaining about something, and I can't remember if he ever said anything good about the place.

Apparently hates the government, the education system and the wine supply. If there is anything he likes he doesn't say so much if at all.

Of course we can criticize, but most of us don't just criticize every post.
