SETV Vientiane requirements?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've looked around some recent chatter on this but still could do with some confirmation from any recent experiences. The requirements state that you must provide "evidence of adequate finance". Do you think a Kasikorn bankbook will suffice or does it have to be statements printed off at the bank? It also say you must provide an itinerary to and from Thailand, including hotel booking or a letter from whom you'll be staying with and a signed copy of their ID. Is this second actually enforced?

  1. Travel itinerary to and from Thailand and accommodation e.g. plane/train/bus ticket, hotel booking, letter from whom you will be staying with and a signed copy of his/her ID

Hey, Tim, yep, I saw this one earlier. I cant seem to find one that clarifies the acceptable format (printed statements or hard copy of bank book), or one from someone recent being asked to present an itinerary.

Just the bank book is sufficient. It is strongly recommended that you conform with the requirements specified in https://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/page/tourist-visa-2?menu=63bcd875e8b39d00fd0e7513. They will be strictly applied if Vientiane views you as a long stay tourist.

Hi steve0101,

I printed off 3 Months statements from UK bank account - dated the day before I applied - editing out sensitive information.

No itinerary given, but I did give a signed photocopy of the i.d. and housebook of the owner of the address i stay at.

I would imagine a preliminary hotel booking on a website would suffice.

Was successful, with extensive history of stay.

Vientiene were very friendly.

I did post about my experience:-

Incidentally, did you return via the border or by air?

  • 10 months later...

Does anyone know for what period I need to provide tickets from Thailand and hotel booking - 60 days or 90 days is also possible?
