What are your experiences with the new tax laws?????
What I fail to understand is that the DTA's re official treaties between your country and Thailand. If they push you on this then file a claim with your embassy or in the case of the US wih the State deparment and advise the RD that is what you are doing. Also tell the press local and in your neck of the woods so that if enough people complain, the rd will stop doing that as it is illegal! If one accepts that they have to pay something just so that it isn't too much, then things will only get worse when they see how easy some expat are. -

Outdated 2-5pm Alcohol Ban Faces Renewed Criticism in Thailand
Do you ever read any UK newspapers? You will read of plenty of knights "Sirs" there. Have you ever been in a UK court, you will see plenty of lawyers wearing wigs there. So yes!! I do believe what I write. -

I've been denied entry to Thailand - Now What ! ?
I had Non O visas 20+ years ago. I would love to convert my visa exempt entry to a Non O visa (retirement) inside of Thailand. Does the 800k Baht have to be in that bank account for at least 2 months prior to my application? Or only at the time of the application? So I turn 50 on March 24th, and my visa exempt ends on April 11th. That is 18 days, but only 14 business days. Hope that will be fine for most immigration offices. What is the earliest date that I could apply for the 12 months extension of this non O visa? Thanks for all the info really appreciate it. -

Why China will prevail over the US in this crazy world of Trump 2.0
yes they do sell a lot of junk cheap that a lot of people buy. They also trans-ship thru other countries to hide the country of origin. -

Trump 2.0 -- Exponentially more damaging than Trump 1.0
Although Kenyu Jin was schooled in the West her allegiance is to China. It is only natural that she takes a pro-China stance by painting a positive picture of her homeland. Her warning "Don't be at the mercy of the U.S. financial system" does little to address the dangers of China's debt trap diplomacy. She says nothing of countries pulling out of the Belt and Road Initiative. While China is making inroads in expanding exports there is a long way to go. Many of its targeted trading partners are poor countries which struggle to pay their bills. Not the ideal export market China would like.
