And the game begins.

Start will small seeds about his bad health & then he needs to stay there all the time. Next, he is so ill that he needs 24 hour care and he can only get that at home.

It's a game.

At that level, they really don't have to play 'low level games'. Or, would he have ever come back?

Mafia fugitives also pretend to be sick in order to get a reduced sentence or house arrest.

As surely do non high profile convicts, but just don't get the news coverage.  As not being divisive maybe ... IMHO

It's a game.

As I wrote earlier, I see a compassionate pardon in the offing which will rejuvenate him to full health.

Maybe there is another reason why he returned to Thailand.

Maybe he knows that he is so sick that he will only live for a few weeks more.

And if he does that in a Thai jail then he will be celebrated as martyr by some people.

He always wanted to be the center of everything. That would bring him a little more fame for a few weeks.

Thinking much easier to quietly put him up in a VVIP suite in a military type hospital. Part of a larger script I'm sure.

Whos getting better treatment, Thaksin or the Red Bull heir?  What kind of prisoner gets to fly on a private helicopter when they don’t feel well in prison.  Lucky guy.

The Pantomime continues.

I would have bet everything I have on him not spending even a night in jail. Exactly the same thing happened with an influential crime boss some years ago. Transferred to a VIP suite at a hospital within a day or two and that was the last we heard of him. Got off scot free. It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. The sad thing is, many will think he's actually sick.

Not good, may be too much stress, aerobic, yoga, meditation, qi qong, cardio exervices, the best solution, and a stent in a coronay of by pass.

I'm sure he's out at some hi-so luncheon engagement right about now with some distinguished guests to enable further discussion on the plan.

No other prisoner has a net worth of US$2bn

How do these Thai have so much money? Lottery winnings? Rice field sale? Or the other more obvious way... corruption.

This was quicker than i thought. Who was surprised by this ?  But did yiu rhink on day 1?

So he didn't even spend 1 full night in jail?  Disgusting but I guess expected.

Entirely predictable.

A few weeks in a luxury suite at the police hospital followed by home detention. Followed by a pardon.

Yes, that was his  plan.

Thailand does not deserve democracy.  they will not fight for it.

In recent candid photos he looks ghastly.

Definitely has health issues.

Maybe that prompted his return.

Dubai and Singapore have excellent medical facilities!

The red shirts did but they got shot, all 99 of them.

Then Thaksin spat on them by getting into bed with the military backed parties.

Some of Thailand's best doctors are at the Army Hospital in Bangkok, ...  why not take him there?

Perhaps his minders (who are no doubt still there and powerful) don't want him near military folks?

Don't kid yourself, Srettha is just another sock-puppet of the Shinawatra Clan.

WHY  young Shinaatra Lady NOT being Prime Minister after all the hype on this very well connected and seemingly capable young prospect  ???

It is Mr. Srettha time now.

Shinawatra era had been over.

Wow were'nt they so lucky to have a helicopter available at 3am in the morning, for night flight over Bangkok would that need flight plan approval?

Being here since '91 I can say unequivocally that Thailand was most stable from 2001 to 2005.

Most development happened in the early 2000's, when Thaksin was PM.

A real democracy? Transition? Don't even try to tell me that under the military or since the coup in 2006 there has been anything of the sort.

Nice attempt at diversion but not accepted.

Nobody (incl. me) has suggested there's been strong development under the military PMship (dictatorship) except of course some good development of railways.

Is anyone really surprised about this? I have an office full of Thais who told me this was going to happen YESTERDAY!
Now I'm either employing an awful lot of fortune tellers or this is the worst kept secret in Thailand.

nothing is ever as predictable in Thailand as it is in other countries.

Oh I think you will find a lot of behaviour here is predictable, corruption, nepotism, the chance to do the wrong thing at virtually every opportunity, yes much in Lieland is predictable.....

I am pretty sure his lawyers are working out the best way  of  getting him out of prison plus a pardon

So he can be with his family

With their vast  wealth and influence should not take to long ????

Wow when he was living Singapore, he looked pretty chipper, shaking hands, then his golf stream jet. He looks pretty good a few hours after that while he’s in the hospital unit of the president. He gets so sick that they couldn’t treat him at the hospital maybe with some Pepto-Bismol instead they fly him to a Hospital. Well, he’s right on track in a few days so that he has to be at home state for health reasons TIT

You jogged my memory.. when I was in Venezuela I was told if arrested fake a heart attack.. they would take you to a hospital. Doing it in the cells wouldn't work out.

I don't know what to think... if he is unwell, I would have expected him to remain in Singapore.... anyhow, a lot of your points are not valid for what we have here.... I doubt we will get the truth anyhow!

"...I doubt we will get the truth anyhow!"

Couldn't agree more.

It's good to know Thai prisons have helicopters on standby to airlift any inmate who gets sick to hospital.
