The deal has been negotiated for a long time, otherwise Thaksin would not have come back!

Goes without saying.

Shouldn't surprise that too many weren't able to reason out the reality, especially the gullible.

This hospital stay is a bit of a ruse and all part of the show to distract and assist the transitional mindset that an official absolution has been extended.

The basic strategy and manipulation was quite clever, actually.

.....and the Shinawatras will return to influential string pulling within the new allied coalition.

It is what it is.

Live with it.

I thought that prisoners had to serve a minimum of one third of their sentence before they became eligible to be considered for parole?

Ah that I don't know, first I have heard of it.

The coup folk committed treason and got a pardon, so who’s to say a former pm targeted with trumped up charges wouldn’t be able to apply for one?

It will happen in good time, just wait for the dust to settle and in a few months grandad will be looking after the grandchildren

Imagine he thought he had a deal and then he had to stay in jail for years. ????

I guess you're gonna have to continue imagining that

Exactly. And his 2 biggest enemies are the 2 most dominant institutions (the military and monarchy).

Didn't the monarchy just reduce his sentence by 90%?

It is the money that opens all doors.. and Thaksin has a lot of it... Shameful that everybody pretends he is treated as other inmates, but in 15 years exile he was never in hospital or nobody has heard he was sick, and suddenly in Thailand he gets sick. Besides there is a violation of section 112 but  he can seek for a Royal pardon.. How many protestor are being falsely accused of section 112 and did not get a pardon at all.. or even the hunger strikers last year.. they were ignored by the media and nobody could comment.. and a criminal can get what he want???? Shameful Thailand

Same as the red bull kid
