Pattaya: shop that sells electric bicycles?

Recommended Posts

Where to find a shop in Pattaya that sell electric bicycle 26'-28'?

Location please.

Not interested to buy online. Prefer a shop with spare parts and longer warranty.

Feedback from current owners of electric bicycle would also be of interest, pros and cons.

Thanks in advance.

There's 3 bike shops very near each other on Thepprasit, just down from the PTT station, maybe one of them will have what you're looking for.

I don't know if it's the same make, but I saw one of those with the ridiculously fat tyres in a cycle shop in Rayong, just after Homepro on the main road going into town. 35k Baht. It looked as if it's been in stock there for some time.

If nothing works in Patts, I think I would pay BkkBike  a visit in Krung Thep.

Spare parts shouldn't be an issue, unless you have an oops.   May want to pick up spare innertube or 3, when buying the bike, as can think of the only spare part you'll need.

Just be very careful when riding one. I have a friend who rides one daily. With a helmet and protective gear. He was riding recently, and drove around a speed bump.

While trying to avoid the bump his bike slipped and he ended up being propelled off the bike onto the pavement. Due to the speed, he suffered multiple broken ribs, a broken arm, collar bone, a couple of the ribs punctured a few organs. The doctor say he was very close to death. After multiple operations, together with steel plates on his ribs, he is now recovering but we don't know if his life will ever be quite the same.

Sounds like he should have been riding more carefully and slowly over or around the speedhump, same bicycles and motorbikes

He was riding like he does every other day. There just happened to be a smidge of loose gravel that the bike slipped on. Could have happened to anyone.

The point is, these newer electric bikes are more powerful and faster. And that means more dangerous. Especially here, with the funky pavements and reckless drivers.

SV Bike Shop on just off Theppasit  Rd. I was in there in February, but was not shopping for an e bike.

They were definitely the most complete and professional shop I visited in Pattaya and Rayong. Good luck, safe travels.

Doesn't read like the most responsible bike rider, or very capable at speed.   One would hope lessen learned.

Certainly can't blame the bike for that. Just because a vehicle can go fast, doesn't mean you have to.

While that is true, many will become enamored of the speed of these bikes and drive faster than is safe. The truth remains, they can be dangerous. As you state, the rider must exercise great care.

Top speed seems to be 30-35km/h, many can pedal much faster than that. Not me though. Safety is a concern, never to be ignored.

The “many” that ride regular bikes at speeds of 30-35 km/hr are most likely expert riders. Folks getting an e-bike and motoring around at those speeds, I am guessing are not so and more likely to encounter problems at over speed.
