From the man that falsely claimed recently (and caused a multi page trainwreck with others coming to your defense) that pre Covid Trump caused the worst depression since the 1930s.

Not much point debating anything together, is there?

No, I did not say that. You're mistaken or lying.

I did say a few things about trump's economic mismanagement:

His GDP growth rate was the lowest of any President since Herbert Hoover. Even before Covid, his quarterly GDP change was in the bottom 30% of all quarters since the end of WWII. Plus, he achieved that mediocre economy via massive debt, debt that exceeded any GDP change under him.

The worst Depression since the 1930s was the 2008 Financial Crisis. Obama solved that and handed trump a growing economy and 4.8% Unemployment, down from a high of 10.4%.

trump proceeded to run up the most massive deficit and new National Debt in US history, or $24,000 for every American. That was the subsequent cause of inflation. trump also took the growing economy and low UE Obama handed him, and produced genuine American Carnage (the phrase from his poorly attended Inauguration speech). trump left a Recession and 6.8% UE.

Under Biden, the economy is growing and UE is at a 55 year low.

As time goes on, we are getting a better and better understanding of just who this man is, how potentially dangerous he is, and what he would be capable of if given the power, and if he is not stopped by the judicial system and locked up for the rest of his life.

Lock him up! ASAP.

trump is a greater threat to US democracy and rule of law than any of the jihadis in the tribal regions of Pakistan or Afghanistan that we were given authority to eliminate.

Ideally---since we cannot fire a Flying Ginsu at him---the law will take care of the traitor and put him away for the rest of his miserable life.

As for his cult, they can slither back under the rocks from which they crawled.

The real problem isn't Trump. It's the dark money  behind him. For a clue who they might be, check Justice Thomas friends list.

Thankfully there is some opposition to DJT, but really, Trump and Biden??? Come on! That's the best they can do from 300+ million??? ????

I've was saying that in the middle of Joe's first term when it became painfully obvious he was NOT getting any replacements ready. Sure, he's done great things - FINALLY broke the absolute choke hold Big Pharma had as his latest accomplishment - but DAMN he's looking more and more like a doddering old fool.

When - NOT if - the initial debate 'tween the tangerine traffic cone of treason and good ol' Sleepy Joe goes down, the former president is gonna take him to the woodshed for a major butt whuppin. 45 may be stupid and evil to the core, but he knows how to please the rubes when he's in front of a camera.

If I were Biden's campaign manager, I'd find any way possible to ensure no debates. Maybe, say they've already done them and there's no sense in rehashing that scenario.

That's also an issue. Even with Trump jailed, the swamp behind him will not vanish.

What a weird country, that tens of millions of Americans could even consider such a dangerous, despicable, deranged despot as Trump to be their leader. God Save America and the World if it should happen.

It did happen and it encouraged Putin to embark on a path to invade Ukraine in the expectation that Trump would get to serve another term. When that didn't happen it was too late to change course without Putin looking weak.

What a joke. "I always had such great respect for the office of the president and the presidency" said Trump. He has done his upmost to destroy the people's respect.

The same applies to all of politics, worldwide. It is all about dark money, evil players and twisted, corporate and military agendas. It is rarely about the people, as the latest election here demonstrates.

Forget Trump, he has no shot at winning the general election.

Some commenters also said that Putin's decision has been triggered by the Jan.6 events. He would have assessed that the USA was divided and weakened by this insurrection, and would not be able to unite against him.

Well no matter what happens in US politics today, I challenge anyone to prove that if Trump had kept quiet after losing by 10 million votes (his party could have called on the court cases (50-60 that all were proven false with no evidence) and he had accepted the loss and exchange of government peacefully, there would have been no Ga indictments, nor Jan 6 insurrection attack on the capital and only the NY trials for him to fight.  But, he needs the monies that the MAGA folks continue to send to him to fight the courts and continue campaigning.   Hillary lost to him in 2016 because some DEMs voted for Trump instead of her just like so many REPs voted for Biden in 2020 because folks could see that Trump was no where near qualified to be President. Now if only we could convince the party heads to select a viable/qualified candidate instead of listening to the "BIG" money folks who really select who they might control to get even richer in my opinion.  Just look at the list of NEW US and world BILLIONAIRES during the pandemic!  Same thing around the world nowadays and probably even during my younger years too but I probably was just too dumb to recognize it at home.

Or it did until Donald Trump was inaugurated. The most obvious connection to Orwell was the new president’s repeated insistence that even his most pointless and transparent lies were in fact true, and then his adviser Kellyanne Conway’s explanation that these statements were not really falsehoods but, rather, “alternative facts.” As any reader of “1984” knows, this is exactly Big Brother’s standard of truth: The facts are whatever the leader says they are.

Fairs fair, if its good for the goose its good for the gander.

As for the Trump prosecution, there is nothing against Trump that would not be overturned on appeal to the Supreme court - it's just a complete waste of tax payers money

Up side of this is most will support it. The left claim the law applies equally to all, let's see the lefty elites in jail for their summer of love, election denialism, weaponizing the DOJ, encouraging the "surge" to biden's welded open southern border etc

Responded with the “laugh” you would be correct to think I am laughing at you, not with you. Damn … I got sucked into the tolling, sorry.

Pretty sure record low unemployment number over the past couple of years is what has actually fueled the surge in illegal arrivals. The only possible way to stop this is to aggressively prosecute employers hiring illegals as happens in other countries.

Trump should have locked up Clintons, Gore, Bush, Obama and Bidens.

Trump is obviously delusional. What democracy locks up political opponents??? He will die in prison.

The Supreme Court has proved it is not beholden to Trump. They have ruled against him at least twice.
